This is not a perfect process, I have proof!

I keep seeing people posting on the motivation and support forum that they are discouraged because their weight loss is not as perfect as it could be. I understand this perfectly, I've been there. I just took a look at my check-in's here on Myfitnesspal since I started in January. It has been such a journey, and from the look of my graphs, it is a journey with a LOT of ups and downs.

I just wanted to show people that it is okay to go out of town and gain some water weight, it isn't the end of the world to not lose an ounce for an entire month! It is all a part of the process!

1-05-14 167 lbs.
1-21-14 155 lbs.
1-24-14 153 lbs.
1-31-14 150.8 lbs.

Isn't it fun at the beginning where it all falls off so fast?!

2-08-14 149.4 lbs.
2-14-14 147.6 lbs.
2-21-14 146.4 lbs.
2-28-14 143.2 lbs.

See, I'm still losing, still doing good here, but in March I turned 21 and life and fun got in the way for a bit lol.

3-07-14 141.4 lbs.
3-17-14 144.4 lbs.
3-22-14 144.2 lbs.
3-27-14 143.2 lbs.

That was hard, but don't give up. You're allowed to have fun, have off days. This is a journey, not a race! After a whole month of drinking, eating, and frivolity I got back on the wagon... with a few minor hiccups!

4-05-14 141.5 lbs.
4-13-14 137.8 lbs.
4-17-14 138.8 lbs.
4-24-14 136.8 lbs.
4-30-14 135 lbs.

There! Finally in April I met my goal of 135 pounds! YAY! Time to maintain for a bit.... right? (here you get my inner monologue)

5-08-14 135 lbs. (maintaining is easy)
5-12-14 137 lbs. (wait, maybe not so easy)
5-19-14 136.6 lbs. (maybe I want to weight 125 lbs. instead. i.e Maintaining is scary.)
5-30-14 135.4 lbs.

Now we're caught up to the present. I have decided that I wanted to be a little smaller before calling it quits, but basically just trying to show that everyone has hiccups. Life gets in the way of weightloss sometimes.

Sometimes a friend gets married in hawaii and you have to come help her eat cake. Sometimes you turn 21 and you only get to do that once! Sometimes something terrible happens and you just need to eat an entire tub of mint chocolate chip ice cream while watching "The Notebook" on netflix.

What is important is that you keep hopping back on the wagon with all the lovely people on MFP and try try again afterwards.
