Ok thank you.

Welcome. I'm also in Southern Ontario. I used this site over a year ago and lost the weight I wanted to. I got lazy and allowed myself all sorts of extras and put 3/4 of it back on. Logging again now really keeps me accountable and the food database here makes that a lot easier.

Workout B for me today. Squats: 1x5 - 45#, 3x5 - 65#, 4x5 - 85#, 5x5 - 100# OHP: 1x5 - 45#, 3x5 - 55#, 5x5 - 60# DL: , 1x5 - 95#, 1x5 - 115#, 1x5 - 125# I didn't do much in the way of accessories because I did kickboxing at lunch today except for 2x10 assisted pull ups with 38# assistance.

Hi everyone, Today was workout A. on Squats 5x5 - 95# BP 5x5 - 70# Row 5x5 75# I tried doing assisted pull ups today and had a really hard time. When I last did them on Friday, I managed to get in 10 reps but today with a wide grip, I could only do 6. I researched and think the other grip is called a "V" grip(?) and I only…

I have some frozen halibut fillets and have no idea what to do with it or how to cook it. Do you have any good recipes? I also have a ton of Panko crumbs since I bought them twice by accident most likely to cook the fish with. Never having done so before though, I still have both the crumbs and fish.

Thanks for the advice. I'll push it back a day.

Hi everyone, Now that I'm into my third week of the SL program, I'd like to join this thread. Hopefully it will also help me remember what I've done; I swear my memory is getting worse everyday (lol). With that being said, do any of you use a spreadsheet or something like that to log what you're doing? I think I'd like to…

The more I think about it and what you said, I think you're right and I'll lower the weights so I can be sure my form is good. I was curious as to what I could do as well though. Thanks.
-
Ok that sounds good. I'll try that with my calories for a while. For the weights, I've been doing a lot of dumbbell workouts for quite a while. Lower weights but more reps. I didn't feel like I was overly exerting myself at these weights but do you think I should lower them? When I did the few sessions with the personal…

I prefer Starbucks coffee but it's too expensive. I don't frequent either place very often - I love my Keurig!

I would definitely have to agree with you there. @jennicole4 - yes, that is how he made me feel as well, that I couldn't/wouldn't/shouldn't progress without months of his guidance.

Bump for recipes.

Thank you all for your support. I'm not going to give up yet. I get that PT's need to earn a living, I'm just surprised at the AMOUNT of push to purchase more. I'm also surprised at his push to use the machines instead of free weights. Maybe it was just because they are trying to convince you that you can't do much else…

This guy knows the program and is actually a member of MFP. I pretty much said to him that I wouldn't keep my membership if all he is technically paid to do is show me machines and a few other exercises. He did hint around that I would need numerous PT sessions to do this program though and I have no idea why. After…

Yes, that is how I'm feeling. He asked if the package of 3 sessions I purchased was explained to me (which it wasn't). He said that what I paid for was for him to show me how to use the machines and a few other exercises. I thought I had the option to say, just work with me for 3 sessions and teach me proper form so I can…

Thank you all for your replies and support. The more I think about it the more I believe I'm going to do it. One of the things that makes me nervous is just going to the gym on my own and doing this. I think I'll get some sessions with a personal trainer and just say, Stronglifts, 5x5 - that's what I want to do so please…

When I was in grade 7, the geography teacher decided to do a demonstration. He called me and another tall thin student to the front of the class then proceeded to explain to everyone that the other student was an example of North and South and I was an example of East and West. It was so obvious it was because I was wider.…

I'd be interested in a Kitchener/Cambridge one as well.

Bump to read it over and over again.

I'm with you. I'm already finding it difficult to stay in a routine of working out and have been eating more. I really want to keep it off this time and get in shape. I could also certainly use some like minded friends. Feel free to add me.

It's actually more in mind hands where I'm losing my grip.
-
OMG - these are hilarious!

Anyone? I just wanted to know if I'm wasting my time with what I'm doing. Thx.

Toasted peanut butter and tomato sandwich. I won't have it unless it's toasted.

bump to read later

I made these for the first time yesterday. I found the recipe on www.biggestloser.com. I'm in Canada as well and I used lean ground pork but I'm going to make them again with ground turkey. I also doubled the ingredients since my package of pork was almost a pound. It made 8 patties and I calculated about 109 cal. each.…

I love this. So true.
