Thanks all! There is a lot less wiggle room being close to my goal. I definitely get plenty of protein. I do come pretty close to my overall calorie goal, but I do have the cookie or 2 now and then, I know that doesn't help.

Thanks for the info. On the days I am over on fat I am eating on the run, even if it's food from home, like PB&J. I tend to eat more in the car for some reason. It takes time learning how to pack smarter! Kirsten

I was that thin friend - forever I could eat whatever I wanted, didn't exercise, and felt blessed by my naturally high matabolism. Well, let me tell you this: IT WILL CATCH UP WITH THEM! Suddenly (it seems), I have gained a bunch of weight and had such bad habits in place that I now have to try to break. Just do the right…

I have a friend and the same thing is happening to her. I can't explain it either, only what I've read on here - you have to eat your exercise calories. I just took it as a good thing and eat them and didn't really look into the why. I am sure it's on here somewhere. Maybe it's the quality of food she's eating?

Thanks!!! I had often thought this just has to be the case since my hunger insatiable during this time. I can't get enough to eat. Unfortunately, I often go for the wrong foods - sugar. That just makes it worse. I'll have to try the pinapple. I do like yogurt too.

I use both medication and exercise and am working on the diet part. I have depression and it started when I was a teenager and I am now in my 40's. I can honestly say that for me I need both. I have gone off medication and for a while I am ok a year or so. When I was running every day and moved to the Land of Enchantment,…

Thank you!

Thank you for expressing what so many of us feel, yet try to hide and pretend they do not exist. Wise advice.

I gave up sodas. It has been very hard some of the time, but other days not even a thought to it. I do so want to stop drinking them for good, or at least just once a month or so. I did cheat and had a sip about half way through lent and it was actually "not" good. Tasted yuck! So that is a good sign. Good luck to you too!

I was on Levoxothyrene (generic) for years. It stopped working recently and now I am on Synthroid (non-generic) and it has made a difference.

Well I do run for cardio and mix in cross training with weights and core work, I feel like it must be my diet. I am going to try to get rid of the "junk" processed foods. Wish me luck!

LOL, Mrs Muffin Tummy! That's so funny. I hope this isn't forever!!!

I read this one too! I am also doing Lysa Terkerst's Bible study "Made to Crave" which is about weight loss but more on how we were made to Crave God, not food.
-
I'd make sure you are leaving 2 hours after eating before cardio. If that doesn't help, I'd seek medical advice. Good luck.

http://madetocrave.org/ This gives a good introduction to the book/dvds.

Sorry! The bible study is about weight loss and exercise and how we were meant to be healthy. If this post isn't approved of I will remove it. It has helped me think a lot about what I put into my body, but I still crave the bad stuff - namely sugar! I love sweets and breads and all kinds of goodies. BUT at least I am now…

I love you guys! My first 10K is April 23rd!

Thanks for posting! We generally try to stay away from fast food, but with 2 kids and super busy schedules, sometimes it's nice to just eat out. This helps a lot! I wish we had a Dunkin Donuts where I live!!

I also suffer depression. It sucks. I am on anti-depressants now, and no, they don't make life a bed of roses, but they make me feel better enough to get out of bed, better enough to get through the day, and better enough to exercise. The combination of running and my meds really help keep my depression at bay. I also have…

I have been doing P90x for a month now, but only do 3 times a week. I do love it! I run too, so I don't do it on my run days. I'll be checking in on this group though! Thanks!! Kirsten

I am curious about that too. Thanks everyone for the replies!

I am also struggling with that too!!! I always feel hungry, even though I know I'm not really - it's more habit I think. I know I need to drink more water too, everyone says it helps, but it's not what I want. I'll hang in there with you too.

Make a Green Smoothy. They are delicious and you cannot taste the raw spinach. Even my kids love them! I make mine with a bit of plain lowfat yogurt, a half a banana or a small whole one, some frozen berries and either orange juice or water, ice and a huge handful of spinach. Blend it up and enjoy!

I'll be your buddy. I have found this site really helps me stay in check! I easily get discouraged and I also can use encouragement!
