Siiiigh, I'm back. I went from 236-157, and then stopped. Now I'm back up to 182 as of this morning. BIG SIGH. Personally I'm having the worst time getting back into the swing of things. Why is falling off the wagon the easiest thing in the world?

I don't have too many ideas, but you have my support! I'm in the same boat, I lost 70+ pounds and then went on vacation/moved/gave myself excuses. Now I'm 20 pounds above my goal weight and a bit discouraged. But we did great before and we will be great again!

I think you're on the right track about being cautious with your fitbit extra calories. I've had mine since September (and I LOVE IT), but it can definitely be generous. I have a desk job and I'm very competitive, so for me, my fitbit is more of a motivational tool (ie I have to beat my friends in 7-day steps), rather than…

On a week break from my regular strength & conditioning class + cardio routine, so I'm trying to do #yogaeverydamnday this week! 5:30am Bikram Yoga class was today's.

Possible suggestion: I was told to start Yoga once I started getting most of my mobility back. Obviously talk to your PT and talk to your yoga teacher before practice so they know when to suggest modifications, but I feel that my practice has really helped!

Good luck! I had a little baby tear in my rotator cuff from swimming. I was 24 when it happened, and was lucky enough that I didn't need surgery, but I did have 6 months of physical therapy (2x a week! V expensive!). Even now, 2 years on I'm still working on getting my strength back, and sleep with a weird pillow/sling…

I'm a bit like you, I sort of hate yoga. But in 2013 I tore my rotator cuff, and as part of my post-PT, I was told to do it. I wouldn't say I've been consistant, but when I'm ON, it's amazing. I don't get twinges in my shoulder and all of my other workouts are better. My digestion is great too with hot yoga. I just make…

If it's REALLY bad, and I mean REALLY VERY TERRIBLY BAD...I give myself a break. The body does need rest. Other than that...business as usual. My gym does have a sauna though, so I'll make sure to spend some time there either before or after my normal work out if I'm feeling extra gross.

Most of my stuff is Target/Old Navy. BUT I love love love Athleta for running capris. They have interior drawstrings, and little pockets, plus reflective bits for running outside.

Personal best on the rowing machine/erg! 2k in 9:20!

Have you tried Spike's Good Stuff Eatery near Eastern Market? Those are 100% my favorite burgers in the DMV, followed closely by The Counter in Reston Town Center.
-
@lakhena @drsdc63 Love Boccato! Have you all tried Northside Social in Clarendon?
-
double jealous! that's my new year's resolution! You're so amazing!

You're such a sweetheart, THANK YOU. Can I say again how much I love the Success Storys board? And I wish I could take credit for the "beach body" thing! I'm actually paraphrasing the comedian Sarah Millican: https://twitter.com/sarahmillican75/status/326608079489753088

Thanks so much! I'm rooting for you to get to 135! You're totally right about doctor's recommendations. My doctor had said that she'd like to see me break the 160 mark, and so I picked 154 because that's the very top end of normal BMI (24.9) for a woman 5'6. But if I don't get there, I'm not stressing too much about that…

This is not helpful -- but I got one back in November of 2013, and I could NEVER get it to work correctly for any strech of time. Ended up tossing it and getting a Fitbit instead.

5 or 6 generally. MW --> Strength Training Circuit class 45 min TTh -- > 1hr Cardio (running/erg or if it's nice cycling outside) Sunday --> Pure Barre (55 min) I try to get in a yoga class on either Friday or Saturday as well. But that's the one I'm most likely to skip, tbh.

I LOVE PB, but I think I go just as much for the cameraderie/social aspect as the workout. I go once a week with a friend (work out with a mix of cardio/strength training 4 days a week), I definately feel my thighs and glutes burning! I'd also say my bum has perked up some. But yeah...it's hella $$$$$.

I'm so sorry to hear that! I hope she's doing well, and not having too many symptoms. I was fortunate to meet lots of parents/grandparents of children with NF during the run. So glad that we're able to bring awareness, and raise money for the cause!
-
RIGHT? Had to quit buying those magazines years ago -- they were making me feel terrible about myself. Life is too short not to feel the sun on your tummy.
-
YOU SHOULD!!!! It's an great cause, and a total blast to run. It's hard to feel self-conscious when EVERYBODY is in their undies. I'm sure you do right now and will look amazing doing the run! You two are too sweet! Thank you both xoxo

Thanks!!!! TBH, I have lost more than a size up top (sigh). Thanks a bunch! You keep up the good work yourself! We got this!

5'6, 26 y/o SW 236 CW: 172 GW: 154 Current goal is 1400 cals, with excercise I tend to eat closer to 1600-1700.

Here are my two biggest motivators: 1) The people! I love being one of the "regulars" at the gym, and having friends at different classes. It's and keeps you accountable, because you know someone will notice when you don't show up! 2) Goals (big and small) and improvement. There is nothing better than starting off your day…

Hiya! I'm 26, and 5'6. Pretty sturdily built and I've got quite the bum and thighs on me... SW: 236 CW: 170 GW: 154 (aka the top end of healthy bmi) We'll see how I feel when I get closer to that goal weight. At 170 (and 21% BF) you can already see my ribs and hip bones jutting out, so I'm not sure I really want to go too…
-
Well, if this helps I'm 5'6, and I did not get to a size 14 until I was in the 180s, weight-wise. For me at least, a size 14 took FOREVER, like I was captain Ahab and it was my white whale. Here's my ideas, fwiw, you should a) buy a kickass dress that fits you now, as a present to yourself for all that you've already…

Hi! I'm 26, and from Toronto, although now I live in the Washington, DC area!

119 here! I'd love to get to 1000+

I literally salivated at the idea of hard boiled egg whites smothered in hot sauce. That sounds divine. Welp, now I know what I'm eating for a post-workout snack tomorrow. Thanks!

Oh! Here's what I use: Saffron Road Crunchy Chickpeas! I like the Chipotle flavor (100 cals/oz), but Bombay Spice is pretty great as well. Angie's Boom Chicka Pop Popcorn is completely addictive. (35 cals/cup) And for my sweets, I like Whole Foods 365 Brand Dark Chocolate Covered Pretzels (130 cas/8 pretzels). Obviously be…
