It can actually be an issue for some people. For all of us our bowel is fired into action by eating, but mostly everything just moves down a bit to make room, and that doesn't always form a stool. For some people, their bowels are too sensitive to eating and they have to run to the toilet every time. Imagine how annoying…

They bag the frozen stuff in blue bags and it goes in a colder compartment of the truck. It was great before I had a car, but what you get depends on your picker and sometimes I suspect they try to get rid of the stuff that's going out of date first, so I avoided getting fresh fruit/veg this way and stuck to the bulky or…

I agree, I think there are people who could easily have bacon for breakfast, ham for lunch, and hot dogs for tea. Latest advice says they are the ones who need to cut down to the average.

Good study http://www.biomedcentral.com/1741-7015/11/63 Supposedly it's the Iron content that makes it red- and also- causes bowel cancer. I think you can do something to mitigate the risks by eating a diet that otherwise is plant-rich, including cruciferous vegetables and has a fast transit through your system. The study…

No one has really answered the hungry question apart from soopatt. Do other people really not feel hungry when restricting? I have to go and find stuff to do around the house most evenings to distract myself from feeling hungry!

Nonsense. Not being happy about being fat is not the same as not being happy while fat. If you spend every minute of your day thinking about your weight and allowing that to dictate your mood I feel sorry for you, but for most people that's not how it goes. Do I feel any less happy when I complete a project at work, win a…

Thing is, barbell lifting is pretty simple. you only do about 3-6 different lifts to get a whole workout. There is a lot of other stuff to train, like posture, and how to increase weight, but the basic lifts don't change. Kettle bells and TRX (nothing wrong with them btw- fun!) have like 90 million variations and this is…

Since lactose is a carbohydrate the high % protein shakes will have very little lactose in them. The protein part is whey, the higher % stuff costs more, but you will tolerate it better.

I just find if I drink water when I feel hungry it leaves me with this horrible empty yet sloshing about full of liquid feeling. Like a half-filled water cooler!

Yoghurt and soft cheese have the most calcium per portion. As has been said, the calcium is in the liquid part of the milk, so the best sources are the ones with a runnier consistency!

Anyone going to MRDWC? I'll be there! :D

He is going to be awesome. He's a great actor, he's Scottish, he's interesting, he's a total silver fox. Cannot wait!

I like a teaspoon of honey. :)

I didn't get to try blueberries until I was about 17. I expected them to be sweet, dark and blue on the inside, like a bramble but better. They just tasted like slightly grainy water. :(

If your metabolism had slowed at all you would expect to put the weight back on quickly. How do you gauge your own metabolism? Seems to me like you had two different experiences after a short period of starvation, shouldn't they be the same?

Looking at pictures, the last time I was not overweight was probably around age 5-6. And I didn't get a game console until I was 12! I played out ALL the time. So I suppose it must have been a combination of my great appetite and the food available, although we never had a lot of fried food, sugary drinks or takeaway. Just…

I don't get it. I like the idea of swimming bits included, and obstacles, sure, that sounds fun! But crawling over ice? Under barbed wire?? Through muddy tunnels hardly wider than you gives me claustrophobia thinking of it, I will never be electrocuted if I can possibly help it, and holding your breath underwater when…

The problem in a lot of "hungry" places is not quantity of food but quality. So for instance little kids being weaned onto basic grain porridge and nothing else. The kids in these countries are dying from malnutrition far more than starvation. So for GMO it really is more about being able to produce those added-vitamin…

A high muscle mass would be terribly inefficient for a marathon runner, all that extra weight doing nothing. The competitive ones are as light as possible while retaining just enough - highly efficient - muscle to propel themselves.

Pureblood Scot. But we are all a wonderful mix really, when you go back. Picts, Vikings, Celts - they all settled. Open border with the rest of Britain means likely to be Anglo-Saxon, Roman, Norman blood. The Spanish galleons that wrecked along the coast up here probably gave my family our dark hair. And of course,…

Marathon runners don't have different kind of muscle, they just have less muscle. They only need enough to propel themselves forward (we all do this everyday) but they do need to have amazing endurance to do it for so long! More reps builds endurance.

If you need some meat in, corned beef mixed with mashed potatoes is very soft and tasty. It's called "stovies". Heavy meal though. Not something to eat before dancing!

I have heard that the whey isolate removes most of the lactose - I guess it has to in order to be low carb, right? I am certainly fine with it, whereas with the same volume of milkshake I might feel a bit dodgy. I know I can tolerate a some amount of lactose though. So as always, it really depends on how much you are ok…

That seems extremely cheap for the 5. Is this contract prices and are the contracts the same? If so then the newest and biggest, unless you have loads of expensive hardware that fits the old charge connector.

Living on the weekends. I'd like to try, just once, a job that actually engages my brain - but that does not seem to be a high commodity on the market.

You probably need to be Scottish for this to make sense. Unfortunately, Ming Kee seems to be a fairly common Chinese name.

The most important thing is she enjoys what she's eating. She won't gain weight on food she struggles to get down. As others have said, you can try something calorie dense like ensure to supplement. They do fruit style and soup style as well as the milky shakes, so if you speak to your pharmacist maybe they can find…

You don't warm up? Olympic weightlifters do 10-15 mins of rowing/treadmill before they lift. They know what they're doing.

I think you always get that in tinned salmon? It's the spine. I used to think it was the best bit when I was little, Crunchy. Honestly, no offence to anybody here, but reading a couple of pages of this is the most first-world problems thread of all! ;) I tried to go veggie, but not knowing how to cook without meat I tried…
