  • Got my first road bike a couple years ago. Still have it, and still love it. Did my first metric mile last year at the Indianapolis Speedway in a ride to find the cure for diabetes. I agree with all the people that say buy the best pair of bike shorts you can afford. They feel weird at first, but you get used to them. And…
  • I weigh myself most every day, but I only track it weekly. Day to day fluctuates too much to be meaningful, but weekly seems to give me a better overall picture. IMHO, of course.
  • Yeah, it's tough. Used to work in a doctor office and we'd have drug reps come in 3 or 4 times a week bringing lunch for everyone. BTW, having nothing to do with MFP or calorie counting or anything, the coolest palindrome I ever saw is: A man, A plan, A canal, Panama
  • Would "Aerobis, High Impact" describe it? For 30 min, it was in between your two figures. 300 something cal burned.
  • I have visions of Cher from Moonstruck..."SNAP OUT OF IT!" No seriously, you can do it. Start now and get back on track. Don't wait until tomorrow. 4.8 miles will get you A LOT of calories back.
  • I seem to see more pros than cons. I think I will look into this more closely.
  • You are my hero if you can only have one cup of coffee and especially one Oreo. Oreos and German Chocolate cake is like Kryptonite for me.
  • I do the same thing with oranges...only in the afternoon during that half way point between lunch and leaving work. That and pasta. Growing up in an Italian family, I was taught from a young age that pasta makes everything better.
  • I will have to try that analysis out. Can't hurt. Any worse than it already does anyway!
  • I think I have the leg muscles built up enough and the stamina (possibly) but my problem seems to be my shins. I can't run more than a quarter mile without my shins tensing up and I have to stop. Any suggestions?
  • Great goals nordens, and congrats on your accomplishments! Completed: 60 miles (24 laps around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway) - cycling Training: 100 miles (40 laps around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway) - cycling 5k run - I hate running, but I WANT to do this.
