  • That's great. I started out at 425 and I'm now 365 after 2.5 months. I hope that I can stay motivated to lose as much as you have.
  • I have been in ketosis for almost three months and have lost just about 60 lbs so far. For me staying on track was not jumping straight in to a keto diet. Over a couple of months I started removing things from my diet to give my body time to adjust. Doing this I didn't have to go through the dreaded "keto flu" and I didn't…
  • I and many others have noticed not eating sugar can have a noticeable effect on joint pain. While fasting you aren't getting sugar so indirectly it can help with joint pain.

  • I have used a few day fast to get past a weight loss plateau and I do intermittent fasting every day. I also eat low carb (less than 20g carbs) per day. I'm rarely hungry and my weight loss is moving along nicely. But I don't think I'd want to fast three days a week consistently. I love to eat too much :)

  • I don't know why people think a low carb diet isn't sustainable. I've been in ketosis for 3 months and it's actually quite easy. I've lost around 60 lbs so far eating this way and I'm never hungry. In fact, many times my wife will remind me to eat something to make sure I get enough calories for the day. I don't count…
  • @AmberVazq, why no salad dressing? I use virgin olive oil and vinegar for dressing. I can't eat a salad without it. I've been in ketosis for 3 months and using olive oil and vinegar has not affected my weight loss or being in ketosis at all.
  • Ballwin area here.
  • Hello my name is James. I was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes about two months ago. I can't say I'm surprised since it runs in my family and I was 422 lbs. Instead of going on medications to control my diabetes I decided to try a Ketogenic diet. So far I have lost 55 lbs over the past month and a half and my blood…
  • This is my second time back too. Unfortunately if you can't exercise you are going to have to be a lot more strict with your food intake. No way around it. Walking is low impact and is great for you. If you can't walk then even standing in one spot doing sets of squats without any weight will get your heart going. Swimming…
  • Going on a diet doesn't just make your blood pressure go down. You have to lose weight first. It just takes time. Once you get your weight down your body will adjust. As others have said lowering your sodium intake can help but it doesn't work for everyone. Either way when you are on BP medicine you should be watching your…
  • Hello my name is James from St. Louis. I'm in the need to lose 100+lbs club. I just started on here myself and you are welcome to add me.
  • Yes they can. There are many women out there that like big guys. I am a big guy and many women I've dated through the years have been very fit or have nice bodies. Confidence is the key. Many women are attracted to guys with confidence and a good sense of humor. It just takes us a little longer to find the right woman :)
