I found that once I got to about 30lbs lost, people started noticing. They didn't start really speaking up until I had lost 50lbs (and at that point saying things like "I hope you're done! You don't need to lose any more!"... Sigh. Can't win.

I'm definitely not "old" (not quite 32!), but if anything, weight loss has really showed in my face--- and revealed so many wrinkles that were once filled with fat. hahaha. Darn it!

YES! This is totally true. Hits the nail on the head, I think, with this friend's comments, and the attitudes of many I've come across (work, mostly) with negative feedback..

My weight loss stalled recently and I decided to see if drinking more water would help.. I have been drinking 1oz per lb of body weight (176oz) a day and the scale finally started moving!

Updated progress photo below... What a difference some hard work makes! From overweight and self conscious and unhealthy to climbing to the tops of mountains (literally!) and hiking every weekend and loving my life! <3

Thank you so much, everyone!!!!!! <3

Here's my most recent progress pic. I'm 5' 4" Before pic: 234lbs "After" pic: 187 lbs (and still going!)

You're totally rocking it!!!!

My muscle mass was surprisingly still pretty high even before I started this journey in February. (29%).. As the scale has gone down (and my body fat % has gone from 46% to 36%), the actual number of pounds of muscle I have has stayed mostly consistent (plus or minus a pound or two), which has made it a greater proportion…

It's really really strange to go to the gym and be one of the "skinnier" girls and not always "the fat girl"... Whaaaat!

Awwww <3 Thank you so much. I truly had to change my mind/mindset before I could tackle my body. And now that I have, there's just no stopping. I'm actually 5' 4" :) And weigh 186.5 lbs as of this am. I had an InBody body composition analysis done and I have an extremely high skeletal muscle mass of 36%, so whenever I…

234lbs to 186.5lbs (and counting) from February 2016 to now. I'm 5' 4". I went from a very tight size 18 jeans to a comfortable size 12. It seems to have just gone down over time? Although my stomach is loose, it doesn't hang as much as I expected it would. The body is a strange thing! Just lose the weight slowly and…

Wearing the same shirt for comparison.... I had to hold it very tight in the "after" pic to show my shape, it was so huge on me! -45lbs since February 2016. I'm 5'4" and started out at 233lbs and am now 188lbs. Goal weight (for now) is 170lbs, and will reassess then, based on what size I am and how I feel about my…

I started at 234lbs and my (first) goal is 170lbs. That will put me in the same size clothes (roughly) as women who weigh 145lbs (or so), which is a good goal for me to start with. I have an extremely high skeletal muscle mass % (35.6%) making me much heavier than someone with a lower muscle mass %, despite being the same…

Awww! Thank you so much! :) :) My only regret is that I didn't take a photo in workout clothes when I was first starting out (and much bigger). It would have been so good to have to be able to compare to! Darn!

January 1 ➡️May 3➡️July 8 (all of 2016) ⬇️41 LBS and counting ! I may not be where I want to be, but thank goodness I'm no longer where I started. I have soooo loved looking back at photos to see my progress over the months. My butt has shrank considerably (by 4"!!!), but I'm working on replacing it with muscle…

Thank you so much <3 My goal right now is 170 lbs (total loss of 64 lbs), but I'm not stuck on that number and will definitely reevaluate as I go. I am very muscular (I have 69.4 lbs of skeletal muscle mass, which is 32% of my weight and considered in the "high" range) and I'm ok with that.. but I realized a long time ago…
