  • Thanks for the replies everyone! I did go to my physical therapist and apparently the new shoes caused the cuboids in both of my feet to rotate out of place. Just from two short runs! He said it was the most bizarre, extreme cases of cuboid syndrome he's ever seen. He did some magic and put everything back where it was…
  • Yeah, they were fitted at a local running store, but they had more arch support and more of a heel then I'm used to. I was looking for something with more support for longer runs, but apparently that doesn't work for my feet. Unfortunately, they're past their return date, but I definitely won't be wearing them again.…
  • Portlander here, but I somehow miraculously avoid running in the rain most of the time. I like it if I'm prepared, but if I get caught off guard I hate it. I need a hat to keep the rain off my face, and I prefer a really light long sleeve shirt.
  • That's awesome!
  • I've had it quite a few times. Usually I get it in the summer, or after I've finished climbing a hill (or both). My head starts to get tingly and suddenly nothing hurts and running is completely effortless. If you're interested in learning more about it Runner's World just had a good article on the science behind runner's…
  • I really hate going to the movies, so I only ever go under the condition that I can get popcorn, which is one of my favorite snacks. It makes the experience a bit more tolerable for me. My husband and I usually split a small with no butter, so that's only about 200ish calories for my portion (depending on the theater).
  • I did ZRC25K last year and I just completed season 1 today! I stopped using it for a bit, but I'm banished to the track while I'm keeping an eye on a injury, so it's been great to have it.
  • I'm running the Foot Traffic Flat on Sauvie Island here in Portland on July 4th and I started officially training this week. It's my first half and my first ever race.
  • I started IE last year after one too many yo-yo diets. It taught me so many invaluable skills, such as how much food I really need, and to love exercise. However, I didn't lose any weight. I don't mind because what I learned while not dieting was so important. Earlier this year I started doing TDEE-20%, and because I am…
  • I'm only about 10 pounds "overweight" according to my BMI and I still have a bit of a double chin. Unfortunately, a lot of it is just genetics. I noticed that almost everyone in my family has some fat on their chin despite being in a healthy or slightly overweight range. It will disappear the more weight you lose. I have…
