  • I was in the same one also. Sure, count me in. :flowerforyou:
  • Without reading all of the responses, here is what I have done and what has kept me on track for *soon to be* 100 days already! My goals, besides weight: I'm here to learn HOW to eat normally. I have a bad relationship with food, I LOVE IT! I don't know when to say enough. I don't want to eat only salads and grilled…
  • THIS!!!! I'm not even a cashier, but it drives me NUTS!!!! Place the change, money, etc IN THE CASHIERS HAND!!!!! I want to PUNCH people who throw their money, especially change down on the counter. SO RUDE.
  • Find a portion controlled snack that you can eat in place of the donut, but will still satisfy your sweet tooth. A few suggestions all 100 cals and under: Deep chocolate Vitatop? Fiber One Brownie? Sweet and salty Special K bars? Piece of chocolate? Hard candy? Small choc chip cookie? etc. You can have your sweet and not…
  • Amazing!!!! I'm very excited for you! I was never a runner before, but I gave C25K a try and I love it now!! Congratulations and I can't wait for your updates!!
  • Best post!! True testament of life, temptations and discipline. You may of given into the pizza devil, but you overcame with the working out angels... Love this post!!
  • Cutest post ever! Congratulations!!
  • I'm not much help here. I have had to sleep with lotioned socked feet before (and I don't like it either!) I saw a few ads on TV recently for the cracking skin/foot repair lotions. I don't remember the names of them, I just remember telling my husband I needed them! Maybe a quick trip to the local drug store and a talk…
  • I prefer to go in the morning at no later than 7:30 am out the door, I really like to get there just at the break of dawn! This mornings walk (4.3 mile), it wasn't a run day, I got out the door late and the sun was a beast, high in the sky and the temps were rising by the moment. I live in very hot, very humid Florida. I…
  • The running speed is the speed at which you are not walking, but can still breathe/talk normally. We are all comfortable at different speeds. Don't think that you have to run a 6 min. mile in order to be "running." I love, LOVE the comment about there is no jogging!!! Love that!!!
  • Love the stories, XCGA! We all have those special horses and moments that we love. I love "farm" life, but it is daunting at times! OMG, You'll be back in the saddle soon. It will be a wonderful feeling when you get back on. All things I love about riding came back to me.
  • Raasy summed up what I would have to say. The program is flipping awesome! Go at your own pace, both with speed and repeat weeks as needed. I repeated Week 3 because I wasn't "getting it". When I totally revamped my outlook, mostly to just slow down my speed (it's not a race!!!) I found the program so much more enjoyable…
  • Here is a link that a friend posted about naturally flavored water, using fruits/vegs. I have not tried them, so I can't vouch for how they taste. http://www.52kitchenadventures.com/2012/09/17/fifty-awesome-flavored-water-recipes/
  • Great NSV!!! I think the less fat means less buoyancy! (I love your profile pic btw! It made me laugh!)
  • First of all, WELCOME! Just take it one day at a time. I highly suggest not making drastic changes to your current diet. Work on cutting out or reducing "empty calories" such as sweeten teas, sodas, etc. Don't go for all salads and no carbs, unless that is how you plan on eating forever. I have done this in the past and…
  • OMG! If I had ran your race the ambulance would of been like, "Um, look lady, let us just give you a ride to the end of race." Great job!!! I would be ecstatic about the medal, DFL or not!!!
  • Slow your pace! :) If you can't breathe/breathing hard during the run parts slow down. :) You are running too fast for your conditioning.
  • Knock 'em dead!!!! :)
  • I started with plain ole' walking, walking a mile was a struggle. I was over the 300 mark and would not even consider anything that was high impact or even jumping rope/jumping jacks!!! As I lost the weight I added more time/distance, and jogging in place. Then the elliptical and finally started C25K (on week 7 now, 25…
  • You're going to rock it girl!! I hope you do well in the costume contest!!!
  • Hey girl! I was thinking about the end of the program recently, as I near the end I know that I need more than the allotted 30 minutes for my to run a 5k distance. My plan is to use another app. I have (RunKeeper) and program it to increase my running time like C25K does at the end, 2-3 a week until I have the running the…
  • I run the app. every other day. It guess I am finishing it a little early, but not by much. I do sometimes do a back to back running of the app. I'm currently on week 7, btw. As a newbie to running our (mine) body does need some recovery time (the day between.) The best advice I can offer is: Go at your own speed, don't…
  • I am on Week 7 Day 2 now. I have NEVER been a runner, even in school. I would never complete the mile run (or get even close!) Many years later, a whole lot heavier, I have run a mile several times now and I'm on the verge of breaking the two mile marker. I am not fast, but I'm doing it!
  • Amazing!! Thank you so much for sharing your story and keys to success with us.
