I'm starting the C25K Program today and I'm looking for anyone who has completed the program or is in the process.

I'm not a runner, I'm not even an exerciser but I am done with a sedentary lifestyle.

If you have any advice, or know a group I can join, please let me know.

Thank you!

Hey there.. I am starting week 7 this week. This is a great program. I am not a runner either, but I am really beginning to love it. This is a great program if you stick with it. The best advice that I can give you is:

GO SLOW - this is not a race, you do not go to fast, just take it easy, get through the workouts speed will come later

TAKE EACH DAY/WEEK AT A TIME - if want to look ahead and see what is coming, feel free to, but don't let the workouts be daunting to you, you will be ready for that week when it comes.

DON'T BE SCARED OR ASHAMED TO REDO WEEKS - I say this because I have had to redo 2 weeks of the program, i felt i was just not ready to move onto the next week. I was kind of mad at myself for needing to redo them, but I feel redoing them made me stronger as well

LISTEN TO YOUR BODY- if you can only jog at the speed you walk, then do so, if you cant catch your breath then slow down. Take your time and you will be fine

 Good luck on your C25k journey, remember this is supposed to be fun, don't give up and you will be amazed at far you have come in the end. If you need friendly support feel free to send me a friend request

I did this a few years ago. I was unable to run to the end of my road when I started, since then I've run several half marathons so definitely works!

My only tip would be don't give up. It's hard but you'll be amazed how quickly you progress in terms of length of time you can run. I started week 3 and only did the first day and had the rest of the week of due to laziness, normally for me that would have been a giving up totally excuse but I restarted week 3 the next week and carried on, so glad I did.

For me motivation is key so I signed up for a local 5k held a few weeks after my C25k was due to finish or you could check out your local parkrun. It was such a buzz completing my first 5k "race", no matter that it was really so I did it without stopping.

Good luck and enjoy it. I didn't enjoy every session but I did enjoy the end of every session when I could tick off a workout and feel satisfied I'd got off the couch and done something!

I started mid April, had gall bladder surgery in June, and ran 3 miles this morning without stopping! (Still can't believe it!)

I'm using the RunDouble app and using the distance version, so I'm in week 9, which is the last week of the program.

This group is very helpful and supportive:

Have fun and take it slow!

I started it in March and finished in early May. It's a lot easier than you think, and it kind of makes running fun! It does a great job of easing you into it, and you will really be running 30 minutes straight before you know it!

Raasy summed up what I would have to say. The program is flipping awesome! Go at your own pace, both with speed and repeat weeks as needed. I repeated Week 3 because I wasn't "getting it". When I totally revamped my outlook, mostly to just slow down my speed (it's not a race!!!) I found the program so much more enjoyable and I really look forward to running now. I am on Week 8, just did day 1 today, which is a 28 min. run. I have never ran a mile in my life and at the start of the program running for more than 60 seconds was a struggle. Today, I made it to the 2 mile marker, non stop running. It maybe slow, but I'm doing it! :)

This program, honestly has turned me into a runner, I love it now! I would of never in a million years thought I would say that!!!

Good luck girl, you can do it!!!
