  • That's the funny thing. The part I kept saying I "can't do this" was box jumps to a specific height. I managed to do the workout by not jumping on the box, but by stacking weights to the proper height. Just annoyed that the box freaks me out so much.
  • I plan on adjusting after a few weeks, but was looking for some guidance. Thanks for your response.
  • 5'5" and whatever weight my body is when I get to 18% body fat. My lowest was 140ish and I had people asking me what kind of cancer I was getting treated for...I wasn't. I would rather the people who actually need the support for life changing diseases get the focus they need until a cure is found.
  • To lose pounds it has to come from somewhere: 1. Body fat 2. Muscles If you really don't want to lose anymore body fat, then throw your scale away and forget the pounds.
  • Funny thing...I started Shark Week this morning. Got so bloated I look like I'm 3 months pregnant. Did my workout anyways. Actually did a harder one than normal. Reason: Before I started working out regularily I would get cramps so bad that I have been hospitalized for them. They did the whole surgery to find out why…
  • See I took that a completely different way...I took this comment to mean to avoid not seeing the forest because of all the trees. Maybe my interpretation is off, but doesn't that seem to be a trend on the pages here...people getting so obsessed with a certain number ("magic number on the scale") and more advanced people…
  • Also, the comments here did push me to try on last time before I closed out the month of April...I managed to get more than 20 double unders...a couple of times so now fluke...
  • I set the time goal because I don't want to get super focused on only one skill. A basketball player that can only hit three-pointers is great...until they need to hit a free throw to win the game.
  • Again the half-marathon is a concrete number. Standardized. So no...13 miles would not be complete. If I had made my goal to do more than I could do now, then I would have stopped at 3...because it was progress. I set the goal/target high and on a very specific time frame. But I see your point...
  • Two parts to this: The consistently bugs me for some of my goals...like run a half marathon. Only need to do that once (just to prove to myself I can do it). Or finish an triathlon. And the second part is NO I'm not stopping forever. It was a goal for a months improvement to be able to complete 20 consecutive…
  • ^^^This. It was an opinion question.
  • The number was not intended to be concrete, but it was written that way. If I had written the goal as improve my double-unders, I would have stopped at 3  I am still going to work on my double-unders, but am moving onto a new focus.
  • Wow a lot of responses while I was away from the computer. I'll go through for direct responses on some, but would like to modify my phrase...This is not a failure, it was progress. Thanks for calling me out on that one. Calling this an aim for the moon, landing in the stars movement for the month. :drinker: Except…
  • So it appears that I am the only one who thinks the spirit of some goals is enough... However I do have to disagree with this comment personally Mainly because some of my physcial goals are one-time goals. Just to say that I successfully finished one. So I guess I'll try one set for my 20 double-unders before I call my…
  • So perfect or bust... Didn't look at it in the "good enough" way myself...now I have to ponder a while...
  • But would you consider a scale goal complete if you get to a healthy range and realize that YOUR body is where you need it to be? Despite the number on the scale? Just asking because I have set a goal of 145 lbs OR 18% body fat... These would be examples of what I call concrete goals... Thanks for your input!
  • Thanks everyone.
  • Right there with you...my hubby was a self-proclaimed "chubby chaser" because of the boobs they tend to have. He dislikes measuring me every week, mainly due to the fact that my boobs keep shrinking. But its all equal this time (last time I ended up with a 36D on one side and a 36B on the other for about three weeks …
  • So granted that you have lot less to lose than I do; that I don't know your current stats (height/weight/age); and that your diary is not open for review...here is my numbers from Scooby to give you an example. 192.4 lbs (87.5 kilograms) height 66 inches (167.6 centimeters) 3-5 hrs/wk of moderate exercise BMR 1665; TDEE…
  • LIFT HEAVY THING, PUT DOWN HEAVY THING, REPEAT!
  • Had this happen alot at my old workcenter. One time, I came back from a day off and found my entire food cabinet empty, except for $20 and a note. "Long shift, no cars, no one answering calls, sorry we cleaned you out. Hope this helps." My new workcenter? Everyone shares the food in the fridge, so if its not fair game you…
  • "wow, i really regret that workout" says no one ever but seriously, try the workout for 10 minutes. If you're still exhausted, stop. Chances are, once you get into it you'll convince yourself to push through to finish.
  • Completed W2D2 yesterday.
  • This was routinely (like atleast once a week) my lunch or dinner: Pizza Hut Honey BBQ Traditional Wings (8 pieces) Pizza Hut Personal Pan Pizza Ham and Pineapple (whole pizza) Pizza Hut Chocolate Dunkers with extra sauce (whole box) Two 2liters of Pepsi Calories: 4830 Sodium: 5735 After this I was frequently ready to eat…
  • You rang? Adding
  • I have also yet to spot one in Germany.
  • \ :grumble: Lucky! My doctor's don't give flip about whether you are in in full camo and steel-toed boots. What the scale says is gospel for them. :ohwell: I shrug off their numbers everytime.
  • *shudders* online "dating" profile for fitness friends... might try this, but how do you honestly sum yourself up in just a few words???
  • ^^^My next question as well...
