  • also, if you slice the into fours, then carve out the small seeds and core from each slice, you can eat them like an orange, smile and all!
  • I hear ya!
  • Daaang. You guys were all over this thread! Glad to see you appreciate apples too :)
  • Haha, you're shoe size went down too?! That seems so weird. I'm gonna get up tomorrow morning and get back on track. I had my vacation.
  • The movies theater where I live actually cares enough to take away the things you sneak in if they catch you during the movie. So, as bad as it is, I usually sneak in boxed cookie dough bites because I know they sell them there and wouldn' t know if I bought them or snuck them in. Plus I save almost two bucks doing it that…
  • ADVICE: Something I learned fairly quickly and that has helped me lose 35 lbs. so far, if you can't stay motivated (like you said), you're either: a) Trying to lose weight WAY TOO FAST or b) Putting WAY TOO MUCH pressure on yourself Take it easy and set small goals. A bunch of small goals adds up to a big goal :) Poke…
  • I can't use an ice pack mostly because I don't have one but also I pack my lunch in brown bags, wouldn't that soak the bag and rip it or something?
  • I don't have to stop jogging after 60 seconds. I don't have fat at all from the buns down. I don't have the guilty feeling I used to get after eating.
  • Glad I'm not horribly wrong on this one. But yeah, I was like "or you could just eat whatever you want in moderation like I do and exercise a few times a week. That's killed 30 lbs for me...how much have they lost?" Haha. I feel SOOOO bad that people fall for these "quick fix" diets and either waste their time or fork over…
  • Bump. Yes, on my own post. Thanks for the first two replies!
  • There are two types of people in this world... Those who walk and those walk beside them asking for money. Haha, just kidding. I think you're absolutely right about how they should exercise in order to prevent a heart attack or stroke themselves, but people are raised differently. Trust me. I'm from one of the laziest and…
  • I joined this site in compliance with my New Years goal ("Get in shape you lazy SOB") and I've lost 28 pounds already. I can tell you this much, the fact that the shirts and pants I bought at the begining of the school year are not "shrinking" this year, and in fact are at least a whole size big on me, is the greatest…
  • Thanks for the replies all! I think I'm gonna give this a go and see how it works.
  • nice tip. I used to do the same thing but have since slowed things down. It's crazy now because my family (like I used to) will be on second servings and I'll only be a third of the way done with my meal. Also, another tip, drink three glasses of water with each meal. 1) Fills you up quick. 2) Forces you to eat slower.
  • ...if all the really tasty foods were the most nutritious.
  • Do not create a calorie deficit for the five weekdays, then eat like a staving Ethiopian kid on Saturday and Sunday and expect to lose weight. I'm no dietitian, but I can garuntee it will not work.
  • Depends on your weight. If you weigh 245 lbs (like me) it would be something like a 40 minute intense cardio session 5 times per week. I typically do the same exercises (boring i know) because I don't bore easily, which is jumping jacks and a higher intensity jogging in place. From there, if you weight less you would need…
  • Welcome. MFP helped me lose 15+ pounds so far. If you follow the calorie suggestions and fill out your goals and exercise truthfully, it will make it happen.
  • I would also advise against diet pills. A: They don't work if you don't cut calories and eat nutritious foods anyway. B: The pros are few and far between. They're just another way for some company to make a quick buck off of us big people that just want to be in shape again. Good luck! :)
  • I HAD THE SAME ISSUES. Let me tell you, it can be done. I used to drink 3-5 cans of soda per day and eat endlessly. Seriously, I considered everything a reason to have a snack (was also usually the most tasty, fattening thing I could find). I also had zero physical activity whatsoever. I woke up, sat on the bus for an…
  • You can make playlists for free at "playlist.com"
  • Haha. I'm sure this one of the perks of losing weight. More weight loss = More energy = ...More in the Mood :)
  • Thanks for all the suggestions! I'm checking the out now and will probably be buying some of them. Yes, I buy music nowadays :) @transparentjelly: "Magic" by B.O.B. is an awesome song and defenitely a song I have worked out to before.
  • You need carbs. Without them, you will not live. Just make sure you hover right around your calorie maintainence level (minus 500 calories to lose 1 pound a week) each day and make sure at least half the food you are eating is nutritionally beneficial. You're good to go.
  • You're doing fine :) It's alright to go over a bit on a special occasions (however yesterday was not because the Packers won). Haha. Just get back on track and keep it up. Might I suggest Quaker Oatmeal for breakfast? I used to hate the stuff because it lacked flavor, however, if you microwave it with the proper amount of…
  • Wow! I love all of you for being so supportive! @cat3nv: I have also traded in the white bread for wheat. After a good jog, when I have a little runner's high, I can't even force myself to eat white bread anymore. Its like my body has taken over and says ME WANT WHEAT! GIVE ME NOW! @loriefolk: Thank you. You gotta have a…
  • The problem for most overweight people, myself included until now, is not WHAT you eat entirely, but HOW MUCH. You don't have to cut out the fast food and sweets. I still eat McDonalds and stay under my calorie limit (It's still not very nutritious of couse.) I just don't order the Big Mac Meal with a large coke and large…
  • Yeah the motivation of the pound counter is going to be major motivation for me. Thanks for the replies, I think I should be safe guesstimating that I've lost at least 75% of what MFP says I have. I'll check for sure when I can.
  • Outside of not being sure whether or not losing 60lbs in 4 months is possible, I am most definately sure that it's not healthy. A healthy rate for weight loss is no more than 2 lbs per week. So for 4 months (4 months x 4 weeks = 16 weeks) it would only be healthy to lose no more than 32 lbs. You weightloss goal, in terms…
