I guess I also just don't want to feel like I'm in the way. I prefer using free weights because the machines are just confusing to me, and I feel like I don't waste so much time switching from machine to machine. The free weight section at my gym is in this enclosed room, and I only ever see guys in there. I know my need…

Thanks for the program suggestions! I've been doing cardio in the mornings and then lifting at night after my daughter goes to sleep. Is it okay to lift at night so close to bedtime?
-
Okay, so I read some posts saying that you shouldn't do cardio and lifting on the same days. If I alternate and give myself one rest day each week, I could lift 3 days and do cardio 3 days each week. Is that enough cardio for weight loss? This is my proposed plan: Monday - Cardio (45 min) Tuesday - Lift Wednesday - Cardio…

Thank you for sharing this. I tend to have an "all or nothing" attitude, and consistently set myself up for failure by going too extreme too fast. I'm going to try a couple of small goals and only add something new once I've accomplished a goal. Thank you!!

I'm nearly halfway through June, but these are my goals for the rest of the month: *Measure and log everything I eat, even if it puts me over my calorie goal. *Workout at least 3 days each week. *Drink at least 8 cups of water each day.

Add me too! I'm a teacher, grad student, and mom to a two-year-old little girl. Would love some MFP buddies. :)

Thank you so much for sharing! It is really inspiring to read a success story from another mom. Congratulations on your success! :flowerforyou:

I've lost 20 lbs, about 1/3 of the way to my goal. I'm short too, 5'0, and not a single person has noticed. Not even my husband. I've lost two pant sizes too. One day I was trying on my skinnier jeans (the first size down) and asked my husband if he could tell I'd lost weight, and he said "no" and that "15 pounds isn't…

Great idea! My August goals: -Lose 4 lbs. SW (7/27): 162.2 GW(8/30): 158.2 -Log my food and exercise everyday. -Exercise everyday. -Drink at least 8 cups of water everyday. -SURVIVE my first month as a NEW teacher and a STUDENT. -Enjoy time with my family every weekend. Good luck with your goals everyone! Take it one day…

I had the same problem when I lived at home. It was even to the point where I had to buy my own food, because he refused to buy it. He said if I didn't eat what they did, then I would have to pay for my own food. Now that I'm older, I wonder if you might try to cook a delicious, but healthy meal for your family. Maybe…

I would love some active buddies on here too! I'm a working mom to a 19-month-old little girl. Add me! :)

I have about 43 more pounds to lose and I'm terrified of having loose skin. I had a baby 1.5 years ago, and my stomach muscles still haven't recovered. Is there anything I can do to prevent or at least lessen the severity of loose skin from weight loss?

I have a 19-month-old, am a teacher, and am going back to school for an add-on degree, so I have online and on-campus classes to attend each week. My weeks are about to get very busy starting in about 2.5 weeks, so I'm planning to work out in the mornings at 5am, pack my lunch the night before, etc. Feel free to add me! :)

My husband used to watch my daughter while I worked out, but it wasn't a fun time as she cried the whole time because she wanted to "play" like Mommy was doing. Now, I work out during her nap. I was worried at first it would be too loud, but I put on white noise in her room and close the door. It's so much better for me…

Hello Moms, I'm 28, mom to a 19-month-old little girl, and have about 43 more pounds to lose. I tried working out with my daughter in the room, but she would grab my legs, run through them, and it just wasn't safe. I also tried getting my husband to watch her while I worked out, but she always got upset about not being…

I always feel hungriest in the evenings. I try to eat reasonably during the day and don't snack. I plan my day so I can eat more in the evenings. I like to eat a big ole bag of low-fat popcorn as my last snack in the evenings because it is a lot of food, very filling, and portion controlled. After dinner, I continuously…

After subbing for the last 2 years, I'm finally getting my own classroom as a 1st grade ELL teacher this fall! I would love some teacher friends on here. Add me please! :)

I'm a 28 year old mom to an 18 month old. Anyone can add me! :)

Another one I love: No matter how slow you go, you are still lapping everybody on the couch. :)

I'm a teacher, and I was looking at some pictures a parent brought in from our field day. As I was looking through them, I kept seeing some lady in several of the pictures, that I didn't recognize. I kept thinking "Who is that big woman in most of the pictures??". Then, I realized... it was ME! Seeing myself in pictures,…

Ask yourself if what you're doing today is getting you closer to where you want to be tomorrow. If you worked out when you were first thinking about it, you'd be done by now. Don't be upset by the results you didn't get with the work you didn't do. Don't give up what you want most, for what you want now. Someone who is…

Thanks guys! This was all very helpful! :)

Thanks for all the input so far. I do cardio every workout and wear a HRM to be sure I'm staying at a good intensity the whole time. I never do strength training two days in a row. For my 3 days in a row, I did 30 minutes of jogging on the treadmill, followed by 15 minutes of strength training (push-ups, crunches, lunges)…

Just make sure you are eating healthy and keeping active while you're pregnant, and any weight you gain will be just what is needed for your baby. It will come of afterward! I was active at the beginning of my pregnancy, but starting in the second trimester, I stopped exercising, and started eating whatever junk I wanted.…
