Embarrassing moment turned to motivation...

Today my partner ( of 24 years ) and I are going for pedicures and some clothes shopping for our day trip tomorrow. So last night I was telling her not to forget to shave her legs and for a second I saw in her eyes the horror of not being able to do so on her own. The reason for the horror is she is close to 400lb and has trouble bending or moving around in the tub. So I offered to do it for her and she agreed. Having my Esthetic degree to me wasn't a big deal but I could feel in her body language it was really embarrassing for her.
I could feel her pain and embarrassment since I am also a big girl ( 261 to be exact ). I also saw in her what would happen if I didn't start watching my own weight. Her embarrassment turn my motivation into a positive.
Has anyone ever felt such thing and made that embarrassment turn into something positive and motivation. If so care to share what it was and how it changed you.

After I got asked if I was pregnant again was one of the final straws. Also that the local shops no longer had clothes in that fitted me and I could only wear jogging pants.
Well i have been here for 15 months now and just hit my 4 stone mark - another 3 to go and also ran/walked my first 5k.
Take it slowly and make small changes. Dont look at it as a diet but a life style change. Good luck and hopefully it can also help to motivate your partner into joining you.0 -
I'm a teacher, and I was looking at some pictures a parent brought in from our field day. As I was looking through them, I kept seeing some lady in several of the pictures, that I didn't recognize. I kept thinking "Who is that big woman in most of the pictures??". Then, I realized... it was ME! Seeing myself in pictures, in context of other normal-weight people really put how much weight I still have to lose in perspective.0
