Today the scale finally budged by 2 lbs :)

in response to feeling satiated... I agree! Sine starting I am just simply not hungry. No cravings at all. People have eaten mac and cheese and cheetos around me (things I used to love) and it didn't phase me one bit.

I am being patient, I just wanted an explanation to understand. From all that I've read, the first 2 weeks of Atkins is supposed to give you a decent weight loss (i know most will be water) and wanted to understand why I wasn't achieving this.

Thanks. I know I don't get enough water and that's something I should work on. Also, I can feel the retention because my hands are all puffy. <grabs a bottle water>

Thank you all for the support and good advice! I can totally relate to what Ashaleet wrote about how not getting on the scale makes you oblivious to the damage you're doing. That is exactly how I've been feeling lately. I figured if I don't realize, then it won't hurt... yeah right! I knew I was gaining some weight, but I…

Sorry I left out more specifics... I'm 25, I weigh 170, my goal 120-125. I'm 5ft even. I'm not looking for anorexia diet tips. I know how to properly do it, I just get lazy with it. I believe my issue is I just eat too much of the unhealthy foods...that and I don't do much for exercise. I'm a stay at home mom and I…

I thought of measuring out my own portions but it's tough because the rice I use is boil in a bag. I don't feel like spending 40 minutes trying to get brown rice to cook properly so I use to quicker method. Also, my husband counts calories too so I can't exactly make 3 separate things of rice (me, husband, kids). All that…

Anyone?

I'm glad I asked about this before working out because after 2 days the scale moved up a tad... I know now that it isn't actually weight gain. besides.. I haven't eaten enough to gain any weight.. phew..

Thanks for the recommendation on Leslie Sansone. I found some youtube videos that I may try

It was the cardio portion of Power 90 by Tony Horton. Included some power yoga, jumping jacks, basically keep your feet busy stuff then you finish it out with different kicks and punches. I would LOVE to use walking as my cardio but it's tough to get a sitter for my kids and I can't really bring them with me. Too young to…

Well, my schedule is all topsy turvy at the moment. My husband works strange hours so it has me on a strange pattern as well. The workout was around 2pm so I had 241 calories prior to that (it was a turkey bacon sandwich) and right after my episode of feeling faint-like I immediately ate something worth 360 calories. I…

Thanks for the advice on the calipers. I've been going by the average that this site gives me (http://www.gymgoal.com/dtool_fat.html)

I took my pics and I'm all measured up! I'm good to go

thanks for your input moondawg14. I have already taken my measurements so I will just have to go off of that for my progress I guess.

I like the way she worded that...pretty much summed up what I was going to say.. How sexy is what you make it. If you feel sexy and act confident about it, men will find you sexy as well. They love confidence.

^^I agree with this. Especially the first part.

Although I don't agree with the fact that a pure lack of self control is now considered a disease, I do, however, think that it may help to open up the eyes of some people who are blind to the effects that obesity can have on you. If more people realized that it doesn't take hours of exercising and extreme dieting to lose…

Thank you. I'm starting a mixture of cardio and strength training tomorrow so hopefully I can keep up with eating back my exercise calories. Also, I'm really glad that this has helped some people, like me, who were unaware of this

I agree 100%. It goes both ways... whether you are under or over, checking your measuring for inaccuracies should be the first thing you look into. You may be underestimating or overestimating, either way, it can be harmful to your weight loss/gain depending on your goal

Thanks! I didn't realize that this was addressed recently
