  • Thanks.. I had already started moving towards TDEE-20% a few weeks back so was targeting about 2500 the last few weeks, but was still seeing rather light results. So thought that maybe a reset and realistic long term workout schedule was in order. So I think by the time we leave I should be targeting about 3000 calories…
  • heybales, I think I got your answer. Please confirm. Start right away. That's what I decided to do. Figured better to start when life more normal rather than when going from place to place travelling. So decided to change to 5 approximately 1 hour per day workouts per week. 3 days of weight lifting and 2 days of cardio.…
  • I am thinking that I should simply be honest and think about what I can keep up for the foreseeable future workout wise. Since January I have been working out probably on average 6 days a week and over 7 hours a week of workout. The last 15 days I averaged 46 minutes of Cardio per day and 20 minutes of weight lifting.…
  • Think it is about time I do this. About 5 weeks back discovered the BMR/TDEE method, but missed the reset. Really plateauing it seems and it seems that over the past right at about the weight I am currently at between 220 and 230 (about 30-40 above goal) I stall. About 4 years ago is when I really changed my lifestyle.…
  • Can you see the pictures?
  • Remember it was just a 3 day holiday weekend. I find on a regular weekend even while continuing to run at a calorie deficit nearly every Monday I way a couple of pounds more than Friday (I weigh in every morning before consuming anything after using the bathroom.). My routine on weekends is much different. We may eat out,…
  • I think of it this way. TDEE is the average daily calories you actually burn per day. So TDEE of 3500 would mean to stay exactly where you are now you would need to maintain the same activity and eat 3500 calories of food/drink per day.

  • Was curious about this thread because my wife would like to tone her arms more. Haven't read it all yet, but the 1st thing I need to say is don't be embarrassed your arms don't look awful like you think. So go ahead where the short sleeve shirts while you tone those arms.
  • I have to agree with this I am lifting double/triple I was when I started my weight loss. If I am not gaining muscle while loosing fat how come I can lift so much more? I can buy the well you see more muscle because the fat over them is going away if I wasn't getting any stronger.
  • I have read the whole thread so maybe someone has already said this. I saw someone post that when on a deficit you wont have materials to build muscle because all the material is going to keeping you alive. Now is that really the case if you are doing something like BMR-TDEE method. Isnt BMR just what you need to keep you…
  • Are you saying that if you play frisbee for 30 minutes the FitBit will say you burned say 200 calories. Then when you record the activity through the FitBit website it says you only burned 180 calories for the 30 minutes. Have you checked any other sites for calories burned playing frisbee?
  • If this isnt causing you pain because of some chaffing. Dont worry about it. None of the men will complain about it.
  • Cardio (mostly eliptical) for 6 days per week for 45-75 minutes. Weight training every other day for 30-45 minutes. Days that I do cardio for 45 minutes I do longer weight training session. Most weeks I have one day off, but still may take an hour walk. I also strive to hit 40-50 flights of stairs on work days in the…
  • Its both. Trying to make sure I get enough protein in diet (according to MFP food log) and also when I workout. So in addition to adding the Whey protein in smoothies I also take a Muscle Milk Light (one of the little juice box sizes) right after I workout. That brings up another question. Typically the weight training…
  • I need to have Movie Theater popcorn and a diet coke. I have a diet coke about once or twice a month. Usually only when I go to a movie. So I usually save up a bunch of calories to be able to have the large buttered popcorn. We share and little tip to make it easier to share and butter the popcorn. Ask for a tray even if…
  • Egg white omelettes. Use the vegi's you like. A slice of a low sodium lunchmeat chopped up. Less then 50 cals. Some Laughing cow cheese. Less than 50 cals. Egg Whites - 1/2 cup is 60 calories. Salsa on top.
  • My problem is that I have really come to enjoy my cardio activities and they are social. While the weightlifting I do I guess is not only wrong, but the way I guess I should be doing it would be even more boring. So for Cardio I do a great deal of Elliptical and can easily do 90 minutes of Eliptical at the gym and I love…
  • To add we are heading to Europe for 3 weeks in June. 1st trip and well we are going to eat what we want, but expect to be walking and a couple of bike trips all over the place. If we come home a few pounds heavier then so be it. We know how to lose the weight. We will just hop right back on the normal day to day bike when…
  • Like Lobster?
  • Nope...My wife is picky they get cereal one day per week. We have no white breads in the house. They eat mostly Ezekial Bread and rarely at breakfast. Particularly my oldest who is a young triathlete and is very conscious of eating healthy.
  • Just checked my food log and averaging about 120g of protein per day. Couple of days under 100 in the past 10 days, but for the most part above every day.
  • Enjoy yourself, but make sure to stay active. When my wife and I started our health and wellness kick we also changed our vacations. We still workout every day. Went to Disney and while kids were still sleeping we worked out in the morning before we went to parks. Went to Vancouver couple of summers ago and we did active…
  • Maybe I will think differently when I feel like the last few pounds just wont drop off. I dont have a problem with calories. I exercise a lot (6-7 days a week for 1-1.5 hours) and try to be pretty active at other times. For instance I never ever take an elevator and during the day at work I will end up doing 40-50 flights…
  • Banning and labeling are 2 different things.
  • People focusing on my Starbucks to much. I think I eat pretty healthy during the day. The breakfast routine you already know. Lunch and munchies at work are typically. Apple or Orange Strawberries Chobani Non-Fat yogurt with fresh berries Carrot slices Celery slices Red Pepper slices 2 cups of Trader Joe soup (Exactly…
  • Yuck. I cant drink Black Coffee. I have 1 coffee drink a day and thats it. I do 50 flights of stairs at the office each day. Its also a bit of social thing. I see people and chat a bit at the Starbucks.
  • I could make breakfast food for myself as well. The spacing makes it easier to get from breakfast to lunch without getting munchies. Sorry the Caramel Macchiato is staying. As I stated it is my 1 vice (even when I am dieting) that I have been able to keep over the 3 years I have lost 90 lbs and gone from pretty sedentary…
  • Just being chatty. It is the way I am.
  • It is my one vice...And far better than any protein shake :) Also from everything I find it is 240 or 270 calories depending on hot iced.
  • Right after I get home from work. Usually about 4PM. To early for dinner, but the change of pace makes me want to snack. Then lessor extent the last hour or 2 before I go to sleep.
