@zanyzana , @sunflowerhippi Thank you ladies! My insurance, while expensive, isn't particularly great coverage wise but I'll get an appointment scheduled to check before starting!

This thread is ridiculously inspiring. I have a question for those of you who have WAY more experience in this arena: I've injured my lower back (right above the booty) doing something (what that something was, I'm not sure) and now I'm worried that lifting may aggravate it. I'd like to start the Stronglifts program; are…

I'm thinking this was supposed to be a reply to the other ongoing conversation, and was accidentally posted as a new thread instead

You don't really have to give them up though! You just have to be a bit more careful when eating them to make sure that they, plus the milk you add, fit into your daily calorie goal!
-
Personally? I would probably bump myself up to maintenance and just enjoy myself! That being said, if you feel like you'd enjoy yourself just as much keeping your current goal, I don't think anyone would really need to question it!

Cried at work.....LIKE A BOSS!

Diet Mt Dew Baha Blast. Love me some Taco Bell, and the calorie free nectar of the gods left me with more room for tacos!
-
That.....sounds unhealthy.... :/

Something that really helps me is a brain trick I found on Pinterest. I use a smaller plate for all of my meals; like, the salad plate or whatever it it's called. On a dinner plate, there's a lot of empty space since my serving sizes are so small. But, when using a tiny plate, the food fills the entire plate and makes my…

Maybe do a bit of extra exercise today or something, but seriously, don't stress! You're going to "lose control" every now and then. 'Tis the way life goes, and that's a good thing! One day doesn't screw up all your hard work, unless you let it get in your head to discourage you! Avoiding carbs, not eating sugar, avoiding…

Don't panic about it! Overages happen, and it's probably a good thing to learn how to deal with them now because, let's face it, you aren't going to be at/under your goal every day for the rest of your life. Try to get some activity in to negate the overage, and DEFINITELY DO NOT deprive yourself of food for the rest of…

+1 to the wish that "the girls" shrink a bit in the losing process. I am in the market for a supportive swimsuit and can't find a damn thing stateside that will fit a 32F. But I can definitely sympathize with the frustration of not seeing shrinkage in the legs either. Like, thank you fat, for leaving in general, but I…

Lose weight. My goal is to be less jiggly in general, so that when I wear shorts and swimwear in public, I'm less self conscious. A lot of that is mentality, but having a firmer body is part of it too! I hate cardio, but I'm going to add it in on my non-weight lifting days, so that might help me too. It's my understanding…

1: I'm not sure what stats you mean ; sorry! 2: 4'11" 3: I hover between 145 and 150 these days 4: Yes 5: Yes

Oh yay! All of this is very encouraging! I know that diet is the big thing; I previously lost quite a few pounds, but it was following an "eat less, move more" mantra. I realize that's really what it boils down to (CICO and all that) but I feel like there may be food choices that will be more helpful to me than others,…

I think it really depends on how vigorous the gardening was, and how out of routine it is for you. If, say, you were planting a new garden, and digging for hours and whatnot, and it's something you don't usually do, then I'd log it (but likely only half of what MFP says). If you did all that, but it's an everyday thing for…

Mine clocks in at 615. Steak burrito bowl, dressed like a taco supreme with rice, no beans. Delicious and worth every calorie!

Some of us can't keep the jiggle under control, unfortunately. The bigger they are, the harder they are to strap down.

I'd like to start lifting as well, but this gym isn't really suited to that. It's a boxing gym where I attend classes, and their primary pieces of equipment are punching bags. They have a single treadmill, a single eliptical, a single bench and one set of free weights, which are almost always in use. It was an absolute…

Different things work for different people, so I'll put that disclaimer up first. That being said, I did a few rounds of 30 Day Shred and lost around 50lbs! Granted, I had way more to lose than you seem to, but I think it would be worth a shot. Now, if you're after a more "toned" look (which I'm guessing you are, since it…

That is absolutely fantastic!!!! You look great! Congratulations; it's well deserved :)

Well, 30 Day Shred is geared a smidge more towards a beginner, and Ripped in 30 is a bit more advanced. If you are able to complete Insanity workouts without feeling like dying, then Ripped is probably safe to start with. If Insanity is kicking your butt in a non-productive "like a workout should" kind of way, then it…

My apologies. I haven't read the entire thread, but I wanted to get my thoughts out before I forget them. When I first joined MFP, my little beginners survey thing told me that my goal should be 1200 calories per day. It was incredibly difficult to make that, mainly because I love sweets, but I did my best to meet that…

Disneyworld, for me; I'm 25, and it will be my first time there. And, dammit, I WILL wear shorts there and I WILL be able to take pictures without picking them apart later.

And I understand that. I was just making a more general statement of not assuming failure before they've even started. And, it might just be me, but I sense a bit of hostility in that last line there. If it is just me, my apologies, but I was just offering my two cents and at no point did I say that "no one" provides…

Like I said, it's not the responsibility of this forum to make sure a newbie succeeds. That is ultimately up to them. But, encouragement never hurts, and can oftentimes help when someone is struggling. And I don't feel like saying that is question their resolution at all. We all need encouragement sometimes *shrug*
-
This is just a general statement, and not a judgement call about anyone: Perhaps fewer Resolutioners would quit if more of them were getting support from people who are already on their way to achieving their fitness goals. When you're just starting out, this *kitten* is tough. Coming here and seeing so much negativity and…

I highly recommend 30 Day Shred. Ripped in 30 is also good, but a little bit harder; just something to keep in mind for the inevitable boredom of the routine that'll hit you around day 15 lol If you keep up with it, though, and keep an eye on your food portions, I think you'll be pleased with the results. I started 30DS…
