• its common to gain weight back after getting to your goal weight and beginning maintainance - this post explains why: *****Reposted from the main forums***** It seems this is new information for a lot of people and it could potentially relieve a lot of anxiety about weight gain when increasing calories. So for anyone who…
• I'd love to join too please!
• what do you mean: 'With my stretch marks, with my bits of flub and extra skin- I was confident and proud of my marred body' - I can't see any of that?! You look amazing! Not just look-at-that-progress amazing but amazing and HOT! If I looked like that in a bikini I don't think I'd ever wear anything else!
• from experience, I'd say that you need to eat back your exercise calories. The problem with 1200 cal is that, while it might work for a while, you'll soon get stuck and slow your metabolism right down. Then its a horrible journey of trying to up your kcals without putting the weight back on just to get through the plateau.…
• fat free greek yoghurt! The type I eat is 57kcal per 100g and 10g protein per 100g. So you can eat loads of it for not too many calories and its delicious with a teaspoon of honey or some dried fruit!
• bump so many encouraging messages here! Its just a case of taking that first step, going against everything I've ever been told about diets, and seeing where that takes me! Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences - really useful!
• thank you everyone for your great advice! I'll have a look at some of the links and websites that you recommend! When you say lift 3 times a week, how long should each session last? Thanks! :)
• If you're underweight then I don't think your thighs are actually fat! More likely they are a bit bigger in proportion to the rets of you, which is really skinny! So if you want to look more in proportion, try to gain more muscle in your stomach, arms and upper body, which will make you look a bit less pear shaped. But…
• I lose just fine at 1100kcal per day, as long as I eat fairly regularly and do exercise. But I am quite short so (5ft 1) so I think I have a lower calorie requirement than a lot of people! I think it depends on the person, if you need lots more cals that 1200 to survive then maybe your body will go into 'starvation mode'…
• Thanks, that's really helpful. I think I will have to increase the calories as that is what everyone seems to suggest on other forums - its just really scary!
•
That averages to 1050 calories a day. I am sure you are losing weight. I am also sure you'd still lose weigh eating more than that, and get more/better nutrients. Edit : Wait, you are 95 pounds, and looking to lose weight? You are already underweight.
I have small-boned genetics so I don't weigh much. My…
• I used to find exercise hard and would eat really low calories just so I could sit on my bum all day (I'm a bit of a work aholic and always have tonnes of work to do so any excuse to stay in and revise was perfect for me!) But recently I've started getting outside and it really is a case of the more you do it, the more you…
• Don't worry about it! I had the same thing with some spray cream which was really confusingly labelled in ml not grams, so I worked it out as only 120 calories a can and literally ate a whole can about 3 days running, before realising that ml's isn't like grams and it was actually nearly 600 kcal a can! It is so…
