  • Wondering if you count total carbs or net carbs?
  • I have a friend who is pescatarian and makes it work. She gets a lot of her protein from eggs, fish, and nuts. She gets most of her fats from, oil MCT oil, and avocados. The hardest part for her was not eating any fruits and eating out. Matt eating meat makes low carb harder but not impossible.
  • Thanks so much for the information. I've ordered some magnesium.
  • I do try to drink a lot of water with it. Maybe not enough. 70-80% of my diet is fat I have heard that magnesium works. Thanks. I totally forgot about that. I am not having any pain, so I guess my concerns are slightly lowered. The idea of having digested food sit and rot in me is wear I'm most concerned. I do have a…
  • Nuts have definitely stalled me even with portion control. The only ones I even attempt to graze sparingly is macadamia nuts. I'm not sure why though.
  • Not a myth. Its kinda the same idea that the Zone diet is based off of. Carbs release insulin from your pancreas which lowers blood sugar by storing them in your cells (if not used stored as fat) while protein release glucagon from your pancreas causing increased blood sugar (releasing stored carbs). If you can balance the…
  • 194.2 Had to step on the scale a couple times to make sure that it wasn't a mistake. Haven't been loosing too much weight these past two weeks. THANK GOD FOR A SCALE CHANGE!!! KEEP UM COMING!
  • Ive been low carb for a while now. Still in transition from Atkins to Paleo but I find that I snack very little. It only happens when I keep snacks around (then i tend to over indulge), but every once in a while you will need to satisfy a craving. Dark chocolate and almond butter has been great at doing that for me. And…
  • 196.6 Feeling really good about it though. THink i have had some muscle gain, started crossfit and I have been doing a lot of walking so hopefully it starts showing on the scale soon.
  • So yesterday was my first Crossfit class. Learned a couple moves in warmup then we jumped right into the work out. 20 min AMRAP 10 overhead squats 10 box jumps 10 trusters 10 box jumps 10 kettle ball swings 10 box jumps Didn’t realize how much a 20 minute workout could kill you but it did. I started to feel it at the…
  • thanks for the advice. I wasnt sure if i should eat before (scared of puking) but I will. and its a 10 class trial with the first being free. I have time to do two a week for now so it will last about 5-6 weeks. the fact the the culture of each 'box' is different being that I was gunna just take the classes based on their…
  • I think the not eating out is one of the toughest things for me. I have a 10am to 10pm kind of day, where between those times Im in school, at work, studying, and in my lab and everyday is a different schedule. It gets hard to always have to carry around food especially if i may not have anywhere to put it and heat it up.…
  • 196.2 Im heading in the right direction.
  • Congratulations! its a big landmark!
  • 197 this week has been horrible. Back in school and trying to balance work, school, working out and diet has been harder then I thought. ive learned that for me one cheat day always turns into cheat week. I WILL DO BETTER!
  • Currently doing 18/6 but I do have coffee with cream. I thought carbs are what increase your insulin levels not calories. I may try the 5/2 next week.
  • Current Weight is 195 are we suppose to put our goal weight? my goal is to lose two pounds per week
  • If you are anything like me you love to snack so I try to keep some low carb snacks around. I love sugar free jello (zero carb) with whipped cream on top; its a life saver. I also like the atkins bars, however i have a tendency to go over board and eat to many of them so i refuse to buy any more. Always carry around a…
  • Calories in doesnt really add to calories out. it depends on What your eating. I would agree with lowering your carbs. Even going down to about 100g caould cause significant weight loss. only trouble is if you tend to go back to a high carb diet, you may gain the weight back. its not for everyone but it works for me.
  • Sugar has been a serious issue for me because of my sweet tooth and has totally ruined my diet in the past. So i did some research and saw that too much sugar will increase your insulin levels for a longer period of time, causing your body to store the unused sugar as fat!! "More sugar doesnt make you sweeter it only makes…
  • Day 2 of atkins. since i jump started with a cleanse i am already in ketosis. i have to take my younger cousins to chuck e cheese and i have this fear that i will give in to the pizza and bread sticks. any advise?
  • I am a shopper and when i was gaining weight it wasn't as fun to go out and get clothes. Once i started losing weight and went down from my 16 to a 12 I was definitely going to treat myself. I went and got pants that were actually comfortable but tight. i am wearing a size 10 right now but it is made of the stretch jean…
  • i started atkins about 3 months ago and stayed in induction for 4 weeks and lost about 15 pounds. i have been off of it for the past two months but still low carb. i plan on going back to the induction phase tomorrow. it is just hard that it is summer and so many events are going on. i still need to lose 35 pounds so i…
  • youre in inspiration!:flowerforyou:
  • He is doing a basic low carb diet and it definitely works but it needs to be a lifestyle change not just a fad diet because you will gain the weight back.
  • i had the same issue. i would always look at my nutritional facts and sugar was always over. I started to do some research and found that it also is one of the reasons why we are so over weight. i started on a low carb diet and have been amazed at the results. Effortless weight loss and tons of energy. you can look at…
