  • Team work makes the dream work!
  • @remedieigotcha, great work! I went from 220~230 to 157 (current). Figured out how to eat and live!
  • M&M's and snickers bars! Great carbs.
  • Anyone that does not support you being a better you is a person who not be in your life and that includes family. I use to be 225, about 30%+ bf now I'm 160 less than 10 and alone the way I dropped a lot of people off..including family. Be your own support system, be a better you, and reward yourself for the trying even if…
  • Hello.. So MFP is a tool that you're going to use to meet your goal (lose weight or gain muscle) and not unless you have great genetics it is hard to do both at the same time. I would suggest that you choose one and hit it hard for a few months, pick a diet that you're comfortable with and stick to it also. Learn what…

  • I would say that you're wasting your time. Fasting is a great tool to use for whatever your goal(s) are, but it's just that.. a tool. There are many benefits to fasting that i recommend you research on your own, because you don't want to get the "bro-science" and it end of up being a bad experience. I, myself, use fasting…
  • Top of the day! I've been doing IF for 3+ years now. I even do it while I'm in a bulking phase and it helps me control what I eat and when I eat it. I normally do a 16/8 during the week and 20/4 on the weekends. The 20/4 on the weekend helps me cheat a little on my diet. I normally eat what I want during that 4 hour window…
  • First off... Hat off to you, you're a great inspiration for me. Everyone is not built to be a caregiver and when times get hard they often leave or put it off on someone else. I would say that the time you spend to yourself will help you reset and keep doing the great job you're already doing. If that happen to be the…
  • Wow this got way off topic! I did keto for about 5 months and didn't like it, didn't see any results, and I couldn't fit the foods I really enjoy into my diets (I like junk food, alot) without being kicked out of keto. So what it really came down to was (me) doing a diet I could do and enjoy for a very long time, so I went…
  • Simple, you're gain more water weight because you have more carbs in your system, carbs hold water, get back on your regular diet and the water weight will be gone in a couple of days, no need to worry.
  • For weight lost I go with a 40/40/20 (protein/fats/carbs). I keep carbs low so I can taps in my sugar reserve, I keep the protein high to try to prevent or lessen the muscle lost, and I keep the HEALTHY fats high so I can stay fuller longer. If I snack, I do it within my calorie range and macros. This method helps keeps me…
  • Try this.. if you're doing great all day and "only" mess up at the end of the night because you're hungry, then add some healthy fats to the meal you eat at the end of the day and drink more water. Sometimes that hunger is nothing more than thirst and healthy fats will keep you full.
  • I train and workout with a few people and the first thing I love to ask them is how many calories are you eating everyday then I ask are you tracking your food, most of the time I get the deer in the headlight look. Then I say let's try this, first I want for you to eat at your maintenance for for a week, maybe two, then I…

  • Getting up in the morning with air in my lungs and both of my feet hitting the floor! That means I'm ready for the world.
  • I just eat... 90% of the time I eat right and the other 10% I eat what I want and I'm still getting great results. For me it just all comes down to moderation. When I was doing a certain diet, at the end of it I would always say this is stupid! So I just figure out what I like to eat and made it work for me. I learn how to…
  • I agree with JerSchmare. I go months before I can add more weight. A lot of times I focus on adding more reps, then add the weigh later on. It helps me with being more comfortable with the weight I'm at and also helps with me with proper form, so I don't hurt myself. Another factor is going to be how much energy you're…
  • Been doing keto to get my body fat down to stage ready 5%. Good: Get to eat foods I normally don't eat. Bad: In the beginning I was eating to my protein.
  • Great job on your weight lost, you found what works for you and you stuck with it..
  • Before you go to the gym, look in the mirror and say "hey are you ready to tear some *kitten* up!!!" If the answer is yes, then you have all the partnership you need!
  • I would suggest going down another 5lbs then going up 100 calories every week until you get to your maintenance. Slow is good and good is slow!
  • In a nutshell, what helps with is making your stomach more acidic, this helps break down food so you can use more of vitamins, minerals, etc from food! If the process you may loose a little weight and your stomach may go down a little, less bloated, but it is not a miracle potion. :)
  • I think your idea to keep a journal is great! I think that you're calorie intake for the day is way to low. Your body will adjust to eating 1000 calories day and then your weight lost will stop or slow down to the point where you don't know the difference. I would suggest figuring out what your calorie count is for your…
  • I agree! I don't even think the guy question got answer.
  • I been going to the gym for a few years now and I help(ed) out a few people here and there and this is what I gather from those who did and did not come back to the gym. It boiled down to 2 things, 1 they did commit to the "idea" of losing weight or building muscle, but they did not commit to the idea that they really had…
  • When I do eat I eat foods thats rich in fiber to keep me fuller longer, I also plan these meals out for the week so they're easy to get to so that I'm not eating a bunch of simple carbs that will only make make me hungry before my next meal. I also drink coffee (black) and chew sugar free gum. Works for me.
  • I use to be a big boy myself and I had back fat and roll like everyone. After I got my weight loss under control I lost the roll and the back fat. I would say for myself that the type of weight loss you do may make a difference!
  • I chew a lot of sugar free gum, eat a lot of peanut butter, and drink a lot of water. Sometimes if I sit and eat too much I get up and go a quick run to get my mind off of eating because once I start eating I have a hard time stopping.
  • I'm the same, I rather run and workout on an empty stomach. I see and saw my best results during this the time I could do it on a regular!
  • I think the discipline you gain from weight lost is something you can apply to every corner of your life. When you decide to lose fat and transformer yourself, it changes you as a person. On the other hand, it can also hurt you! When I was losing fat and saw real results it causes me to eat less and workout more (not…
  • I step on the scale everyday and sometimes twice. When I was cutting weight, I used it as a reference of what foods I should and should not be eating, if the scale went up then that food came off the grocery list. :D
