How can I end my diet without gaining weight

I need tips and advice on how to end my diet. I recently went on a diet and achieved my goal of losing 30 pounds. How do I end my diet without gaining my weight back and relapsing?

    Set your calorie allowance on here to maintenance and eat that amount.

    If you go back to eating what you ate before your "diet," in the amounts you ate before, and you don't increase your activity and exercise to make up for it, you will almost certainly gain the weight back.

    It's common to "reverse diet" and step calories back to maintenance-level gradually, reducing your deficit 100-200 calories at a time.

    You have to eat at maintenance - calorie balance over time. MFP gives you a ballpark number when you enter your new stats and set your goal to maintenance. You will see a small gain when your glycogen stores replenish, but that's water, not fat, and it stops, if you don't go back to how you ate before. Now you start to fluctuate at your new range, and find your true maintenance level. You absolutely can't go back to how you ate before. This can be difficult if you didn't learn a how to eat in a calorie balance. Most diets just teach you how to eat to lose weight, and that's of no use if you hate that way of eating/living, and long for your old way of eating/living. All this to say "don't go on a diet" :#

    New to MFP and posting quotes like this, then wonder why you get attacked. Many people have successfully counted calories, lost weight and successfully maintained a healthy weight for a long time. I have been successful because I can keep track so easily to either lose or maintain, no longer gaining (fat), just usual body fluctuations.

    OP, I feel everyone else has given good advice, especially Kommodevaran. Follow this advice, increase calories gradually, and you will learn to maintain.

    There are many different ways to eat a healthy, well balanced diet. Everyone is different and it's important to find a woe that suits you. Personally I could not follow the eating plan you have listed, for starters I can't eat nuts. Tracking my fat intake, as well, as stated by my cardiologist. Have transformed my blood tests results and haven't cut out any foods I enjoy. Knowing how many calories I need to eat to either lose weight or maintain my current weight and an easy way to keep track, has finally put me in control of my weight.

    As to why I’m counting calories it’s because I’m tracking macros and nutrients! As far as picking a lifestyle you can live with I agree. But you never know till you try. I became vegan and before that vegetarian in my 20s I’m now 65 and thriving on this lifestyle. I did this for ethical reasons, but was fascinated by how good I felt and how I was able to stay mostly slim my whole life except for a time when I had a alcohol problem for a short time. I’ve convinced people to try this and sometimes it worked and some hated it. It’s not for everyone. I say try it for 30 days . Most people drop weight and still eat all they want. Might be do to keeping their fat to 15 percent of their calories. And their saturated fat to 10 grams or less. I suggest 1/2 gram per body weight. So 200 lbs 100 grams. Anyone wanted to know more message me.
