Thanks for your reply :) I've made an appointment with a therapist and I've started working on number 1. I've been mostly drinking water the past few days with maybe 1 diet pop per day (which is a huuuuge drop from before) but so far I haven't really noticed a change. The water doesn't make me feel full or anything. Sleep…

Thanks very much for your reply :) I made an appointment with her and will see her next Wednesday. I found out some helpful info and I'm calling a counseling centre tomorrow. I was told they are income based so I could potentially get a rate that's affordable for me. I'm hopeful!

I really don't think so. She's very young and fresh out of school, but she could. I have an appointment with her next Wednesday though and I'm hoping even if she can't help that she can point me in the direction of someone that can.

I do get heartburn after drinking them. I thought it was attributed to the meds I was on as they can cause heartburn but I've been off them for a while now... so I think it's the pop doing it.

Agreed. I wish I could but with me in school full time (and a lot of classes that go until after 5pm), I'm only working 8-12 hours a week to keep up with my course load. Can't move out on that! Once I'm done school I'm hoping I can get a full time job and do that.

I'm in Canada and we don't have Walgreen's! I don't know if it would change it, haha. I regularly drink the 'lesser' store brands because it's cheaper.

Switching to a kind I don't really like is a good suggestion. I'm a straight cola drinker (Coke, Diet Coke, Coke Zero etc.) so switching to something else would probably make me want to stop, lol.

I am a diet drinker as well and I know it's just as bad. I remember during those 2 weeks I quit, I lost 20+ pounds JUST from quitting the diet coke because it makes you retain water (from the salt or whatever).

Edited my post. That's all I drink right now... I rarely drink regular soda.

Diet pop is all I drink. When I'm out, I'll get a coke zero or diet coke and I've tried getting in the habit of buying caffeine free for when I'm at home so I still get the feel of drinking a pop but I'm not actually getting the caffeine...

It's true - people really don't understand that it's an addiction!! And congrats!! I know I need to just push through. I'm really glad I posted this thread. Hearing from people that have it as bad as me helps. And I will talk to him. Thank you :)

Nothing. Again, we're a small city with a small college. Sometimes I hate being here! Now I'm not sure at all if I should go for it.

Okay, I found one but she's from Toronto and she only offers sessions by Skype. That's not what I'm looking for at all.

I don't have insurance :( I'm just a college student. She comes highly recommended in my small city. From my research, I'm only finding holistic nutritionists in my city and I can't travel anywhere. I don't drive.

Hey, I'm good with like 2-300 calories! lol. I just thought it seemed crazy to burn 800 calories in an hour.

Thanks for the reply. It really made me feel better. It'll take me a while to get up to a good pace, but that's okay. I'm planning to go before/after classes at school. I think it'll also help me out with the stress of school!

The small plate/bowl idea sounds good. Trucking yourself by seeing a full plate. I'm going to try that!

Honestly, I'm not sure. I think it's a mixture of both. I'm just used to eating so much so I feel like I need more even after I finish eating. Lately, after I finish dinner I've been eating an apple just to fill myself up a bit more without feeling insanely guilty...
