How on earth did you lose 20 lb in 29 days when you are so close to goal? Did you crash diet?

MUFFINS ( you may as well be eating cake)

1lb! I am recovering from neck and upper back injury during the past year. Am just now beginning strength training again. So I've filled up 2x 500ml water bottles and use them. One pound each! I feel myself getting stronger daily.

I agree. I've seen way too many people put the scale away and fall out of touch with reality. I'm thinking of simply asking my husband to put away the scale and we'll take it out 1x a week for 4 weeks- same day, same time etc. I've started micro watching the decimals and it's playing havoc with my mood.

Good thinking!! While you're checking with your physician you might want to research anything you can on hydrotherapy - is it available where you are, and if you get a referral can it be financially covered where you live? Even occasional spread out sessions in hydrotherapy ( usually a lovely heated facility) will…

Thanks for getting back to me. I'm on Day 10, so I guess I'm supposed to start 10 days of level 2 tomorrow. Is that the pattern that you follow? Another question: can I get all three levels on you tube? Overall, I have benefitted a lot from the program. I have stayed with simple 1lb weights, partly because that's what I…

I found the answers on ehow. Here it is for anyone else just starting out: Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred is designed in three levels to be done over the course of 30 days. Level 1 of the workout should be done for 10 days, Level 2 for 10, and Level 3 for 10. When you finally can complete Level 3 of this fitness program,…

Done! I just feel a little guilty sitting here describing my daily activity as light active. It didn't change the calorie recommendations. Did you mean- change the setting and count it, or change the setting and don't count it? I am assuming the latter.

Is it the same routine for the 30 days? And then you switch levels after that? I'm in for starting tomorrow (13 August). I hve no free weights at home but I can use two 500ml bottles filled with water instead.

They may indeed find sales going up with typos like that!

Thank you for your great letter and photos. What a great way to start my week! If you are half as kind as your photo reflects, you are a very kind man. With almost 100 pounds shed, your kindness seems to radiate all the more. Is it possible? Thank you again for your contagious spirit.

I was curious so I just read your story and looked at your transformation pics. You are intelligent and successful and your photos essay is rad. You didn't post under the motivation section - but under food and nutrition. So you probably don't need any motivation. Did you have any expectation of gaining some weight on your…

..."long walks" can mean many things. You can actually do interval training and burn quite a sweat on a walk if it's intense enough. You can move almost as fast as a slow runner with a strong speedwalk. You may already be doing that. But if not, research speedwalking on the net and see how you can maximize the burn as…

I woke up this morning and ran 3km before breakfast and work. I'm having a very good day. It was a 'stuff up'...it wasn't a well thought out, planned decision. It was impulse, it was comfort. There is, as you say, a need to change thought patterns that lead directly to self sabotaging behaviors. I was exhausted, and…

I actually work out more than he does. We both work out a lot. He doesn't care too much about food. I care TOO much about food.

Bless your heart! I was a music therapist for 20 years- and when fatigue hits, I forget everything I know and my will melts away. I will use it right now. I love my playlists. I'll take an evening walk with one of the uplifting ones now.

Brilliant! Thank you! I make rolled oats with tumeric, cumin, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves - very rich.

Xidia, I did it. If I did it correctly ( I didn't measure fat because it didn't seem like I needed to to get the FDEE - and I have no scale or tape measure to do it with (at the office!!), So I've customized my net caloric intake to 1822, and feel scared to move forward on this. But I've been reading so many examples on…

No cook tofu-no preparation except slicing it! I saw someone do this once - thought it was weird but have been developing the idea. This was during my total raw and vegan days- Slice firm style tofu thinly and add to your sandwich. examples: I put it between two slices of German pumpernickel, with almond butter and honey…

How do you add them to this site for your progress report? Or do you just keep track of it yourself. I've been trying to figure out how to change a setting to do this. Thanks for your help!

I think going to the GP is a good idea if you feel quite supported by him/her. It may be helpful is assessing the severity of your depression right now and she/he may have some added resources to suggest for you in addition to the help that MFP will give you. It's a proactive forward move on your part, which is great. You…

Thank you runningjen and feelingchubby! You both mention eggs and I may give it a go- although I always feel I have to have worked out first before eating a huge breakfast like that. We have been mostly working out at night - but even I have a short run or walk in the morning - early-will make a difference. I often wake up…

You can suck the nuts ( I can't think of a better way to say this - sorry! :) )Seriously though - I did it a retreat once - one nut at a time. It gets very soft and lasts forever. Very Very Zen!
