  • 1. Be retrospective like Carol : talk to your team about a fire in your life or smoke you saw that "consumed" you and made you rise like a phoenix from the ashes in a new direction, especially if this story relates to health and fitness like a sport's injury or regaining weight you had lost. Interestingly enough, I have…

  • Cardio 100/70 Strength 45/40 Within Calorie Goal - Yes Challenge (Walker Horde) - Yes
  • Hello all! I got in too late to join Team Daryl as I intended, but I plan to do all I can to help the Beginners as a member of the Walker Horde. Being from the Atlanta area, I have been to most of the filming locations and love this show! I was actually onsite when they were filming the scene where Glenn drives the red car…
  • 10,000 steps a day is a lofty goal. On the days I actually hit it (maybe once or twice a week), I am thrilled. Otherwise, the Fitbit is still a great tool for monitoring your own activity against yourself. Don't try to compete with anyone else if that is making you feel uncomfortable. Compete against yourself. If you do…
  • I got the Fitbit One. I like the flexibility of being able to wear it on my belt or keep it in a pocket. I thought about waiting for the Flex, but decided against it after reading some of the early reviews.
  • Thanks all. My wife has lost 25 lbs in 16 weeks on Weight Watchers, so she is doing great as well. My target weight is 195, so I've got 40 lbs to go! And, the Fitbit is an activity monitor. I wear it all the time, including while I sleep. You tell it your vital statistics and your normal activity level (mine is sedentary…
  • Now four weeks in and nearly 13 pounds down! I feel better, have more energy and am starting to notice a big difference in how my clothes fit. Thanks for all the inspiration!
  • More than anything else, my Fitbit has become a great way to measure my daily activity level as compared to other days. I've had mine for three weeks now and it definitely has made a difference in the amount of extra activity I make myself do. Coupled with the food log on MFP it has made all the difference in how I act on…
  • When you find the right person, you know it. Doesn't matter if you've dated 1 or 20.
  • Dang it! I was going to say law office, then saw you were a college student and went with waiting tables.
  • I'm in - cracked 20 miles today. I'd like to hit 75 for the month.
  • I finally broke down and bought an activity tracker (fitbit) and it is the best motivational tool I've ever owned. It let's me know how I am doing compared to other days of activity and I'll literally get up off the couch no matter how tired I am and walk for 10-15 minutes if I don't feel like I've gotten in enough steps…
  • If you lost a pound of fat and gained a pound and a half of muscle, the scale says you are heavier. But, in the long run, you are better for it. Don't let the scale be the only measurement of success. Be proud of the exercise you are able to do and eventually things will even out where they need to.
  • That would be 2.5 lbs per week, which is doable, but quite a bit for a sustained weight loss. Just remember, we didn't gain all of our weight in a short period of time and it isn't going to come off as quickly as we want to see it either. The key is making a positive change in your habits, both eating and activity. If you…
