Get a new Doctor. My doctor said not to go under 1000 calories, then you are going into starvation mode. I have lost 61 pounds with minimal exercise. I always eat below my calorie goal I have arthritis in my back and hips so exercise is very minimal I have met my weight goal and I am now on maintenance

I agree you have to play with the numbers. I have been on maintenance for over 3 months and have not gained any weight. Just need to find the right number and still log all of your food and drink your water. Good Luck in your maintenance

I am in my 60's. So it has been harder to lose my weight. I am now in Maintenance Mode after losing 43 pounds. My Motivation is logging every morning my whole days worth of meals. HI: I have lost 43 pounds and I am now on Maintenance. What worked for me was Log every bite of food that goes into your mouth. Exercise, I am 67 years old and most of my exercise came just from walking. Also be sure to drink 8 glasses of water each day and watch your Sodium Hope this helps.

I am also over 60, I am 67 years old. I also cannot exercise because of knee and hip and back issues. I have lost 43 pounds, just by staying under my calorie goal and drinking 8 glasses of water each day. Stay with it, you will lose the weight. Add me as a friend if you wish.

I have the Richard Simmons Tape, Sweating to the Oldies. Watching my Calorie Goal and doing the Tapes I have lost 43 pounds. Glad we have something in common, some people told me they cannot stand him. Well I certainly can stand him if I lose the weight.

I am 66 years old. My BMI is 22 My Body Fat Percentage is 33.5%, I am at 91 % Lean Body Massl I am 5 ft 61/2 inches tall and I weigh 137.5 pounds. I am on Maintenance my weight fluctuates between 137 and 138 pounds

I bought my Measuring cups at Walmart. Also bought a diet scale for $11.00 and works great, I use it all of the time. It measures in Ounces and Grams.

You do not need to lose weight/. My mother was the same weight as you are now and was not overweight. If you lose 20 pounds, you are going to be anorexic and not look healthy at all. See your doctor before you lose any weight.
