Zumba & 1200 calorie diet

Hi guys :) I'm 4 10" (I'm Short) and I weight 106 pounds! So I could lose some weight! I've started doing Zumba Cardio Party and Zumba sculpt and tone, I've been switching it up the past week. I've been doing it 6 out of 7 days. And I also eat 1200 calories a day, sometimes I eat more and sometimes I eat less. And I was wondering how long will it take for me to lose about 20 pounds? And I forgot to mention that I also have a way to sweat allot more while doing Zumba so, I know I would lose allot of water weight!
Thanks! :D

Losing 20 pounds would leave you at 86 lbs and is considered underweight for your height. At 106 pounds, you are already at a healthy weight for your height. Losing anything at a healthy weight usually takes quite awhile, and you should aim for half a pound a week. However, if you're unhappy with your body as it is now, you may want to consider losing body fat rather than scale weight, which usually involves heavier weight training and eating more.

I agree with bajoyba. Losing weight when you are already at a healthy weight is tough. Eat more to fuel your body and your workouts! It's also really helpful to track inches instead of pounds.

My mother is 4'11", weighs 120 pounds, and does not need to lose weight. So I'm having a hard time seeing how you need to lose 20 pounds, or even 5! I agree, if you're unhappy with how you look, try strength training. There are plenty of good books out there with weight training programs for women. Try your library or Powells.com.

There are a lot of good books you could look into, but New Rules of Weight Lifting for Women gets a lot of good reviews around here. Also check out the group "Eat, Train, Progress".

20 lbs??? Seriously I think that's too much for you to lose. I don't think you have to lose anything.

You do not need to lose weight/.
My mother was the same weight as you are now and was not overweight.

If you lose 20 pounds, you are going to be anorexic and not look healthy at all.
See your doctor before you lose any weight.
