Personally, I like to do cardio in the morning. It gives me an energy boost and leaves me feeling more awake and alert than the days I don't do morning cardio.

No. They are largely a scam.

I've always been baffled by eating "clean". What is "clean"? There is no scientifically backed definition of "clean eating" so what is clean to one person is not clean to another.

How about you post your daily calories consumed as well as your protein, fat, carbs breakdown. With that information we can give you better advice. Thanks.

Thanks for the replies. Glad It's not just me. Guess I'll just use the app since it seems to be more precise.

Wow, it seems women specifically get the phrase, "don't do XYZ or you'll get fat". Men get a million different 'bro-science' suggestions. Best: Don't believe anyone that gives you nutrition or fitness advice. Go out and do your own research. Read the studies yourself and make up your own mind. Worst #1: "Dude, you gotta…

Every day. If I'm not weight training or cardio then it's an "active" rest day. Meaning, I'll go on a hike, take an easy bike ride. Just something to stay active and not sit around all day.

My cutting workout routine starts on Saturdays. Sat: Upper Body - 1 1/2hr + 20min HIIT cardio (Barbell Complex) Sun: Abs + Active Rest Day (walking or easy hike) Mon: Lower Body - 1 1/2hr + 30min cardio keeping HR at 70% Max. Tues: Active Rest Day (1hr ballroom dance lesson w/ my wife. More of a workout than you'd think)…

Wow, why the hate on this guy? You don't know this guy and you don't know his story so cut him some slack. OP, I'm confused... a deficit rack pull is still just a rack pull. I'm guessing the person doing them just doesn't have a power-rack that can get low enough so they use a platform to increase their ROM.

First, you need to figure out what category you will be trying (I'm going to assume bikini). Second, go to a show. Find a nearby NPC show and check out the pre-judging so you can see what the judges are looking for and what the other girls look like in your category. You'll get an idea of how many women typically go for…

Going through a long calorie deficit can be tough. It's a good idea to once a week have one day where you bring your calories back up to a maintenance level with clean eating. This will help you with the cravings. Now understand, I said bring your calories up to maintenance with CLEAN eating. Don't go crazy on the junk…

I pack food to bring with me like mixed nuts, protein bar, etc. I'll mainly dig into the veggie platter and/or I'll bring chicken to BBQ.

You should eat something (like a pre-workout meal/ protein-shake) 1hr before hitting the gym. This will give your body fuel it needs to knock out your lifts. I have a pre-workout meal 1 hrs before hitting the gym and a pre-workout (Pre-Jym) on the drive to the gym (20min before I begin lifting). Hope this helps.

Science is why I believe brown rice trumps white rice: Journal of American Medical Associates - Brown Rice reduces risk of type 2 diabetes. While that was a well thought out article I question the source material. I've read the studies cited and they never mention long term benefits of brown rice vs white rice. Personally,…

I want! For me, the last thing was my Chocolate Mint Oatmega protein bar.

Every time I complete a program and meet my set goals I purchase something from my personal wish list. For example, I've wanted bluetooth headphones to replace my old gym headphones, so when I completed my 6-week shred program last summer (dropped to 9% bf and reaching my goal of <10%bf) I got them.

That when a study is published it is absolute truth and in no way can it be disproved.

Can this even be called a show anymore? It's just a 2 hours commercial for Subway and whatever fitness equipment/supplement their advertisers are peddling.

Goto iTunes and subscribe to the Tiesto - Clublife Podcast. It has plenty of great upbeat music to get you moving. It's what I listen to when doing cardio or circuit training.
