I was thinking about getting one of those wireless digital meat thermometers before. Do you have one that you could recommend? I don't know if I should just get the cheapest one I can find, or if there is a good value-based one, or if I should just go for the best one possible.

Man loses 200 pounds by walking to Walmart multiple times each day Good luck.

I'm worried about putting my hot coffee in a plastic container like the magic bullet or nutribullet. Never know what my dissolve and leech into my drink.

Good information, I never knew that about them. I just threw them in my protein shakes and smoothies in the past because of their nutritional value - they tasted surprisingly good.

Ugh I hate when MFP deletes most of my post because I was typing on my phone. Oh well, not really interesting, but black coffee suppresses my appetite more than enough for intermittent fasting anyhoo.

I've just been drinking my coffee black since then

I heard it helps - it might especially help if you're stuck in the "breakfast, lunch, dinner" mentality where you think you have to eat at least 3 balanced meals a day. Psychologically, if you just finish everything on your plate you may feel fuller with little regard to whether it was a large plate or a small plate. You…

Juice doesn't seem like it would contain all the macro and micronutrients that you need... Even if it did, it probably wouldn't satiate you as much as solid food. Have you tried a balanced diet where you count your calories yet?

My cooking. Just smelling my food makes me lose my appetite sometimes...

The only way is to move to America. MFP detects if you're in a civilized country or not. just kidding. Go to Settings --> Change units.

I've read that sit ups are pretty bad for your back anyway. If you absolutely need to, then crunches are slightly better. Planks (which you are already doing) are pretty good for your core though.

Kudos for trying to better yourself OP. I don't know of any better way to do something than just keep giving it the old college try.

Wait a sec, MFP is on the internet though. Are you saying I can get noodz on the internet? Brb I have a few magazine subscriptions to cancel...

Resistance training also has so many other benefits besides aesthetics. It will increase bone mineral density, prevent osteoporosis and so many other diseases, give you a sense of well-being, make everything you do easier such as carrying groceries to interacting with friends and family at social events, give you energy,…

It's probably just biased superstition. They want to believe that lifting weights will magically make you look like Arnold Schwarzenegger over a week (it won't). They don't really see that you're big and bulky, they just think they see it because they grew up to believe it's true. Lifting weights (resistance training) is…

This year - pork rinds, bacon, avocados, and a pamphlet about the one true way of life. Heck, I'll just do reverse trick or treating and start knocking on people's doors to spread the Halloween joy. I'll call myself a Ketova's Witness.

"Ugh... there has got to be a better way to clean our clothes while living on this mountain rather than driving two hours to your mom's house to use her washer and dryer. Wait a minute, I got an idea..."

Cycling is probably best to preserve muscle while cutting fat. Yes, there are scientific studies that say that cardio and strength training have an interference effect - those studies were done on trained athletes that were eating a caloric surplus to my understanding. So, take those studies with a grain of salt. For me,…

I want to believe. But yeah, can't say for sure...

And then there's the World Record Deadlifting holder (according to the American Drug-Free Powerlifting Federation (ADFPF)), Dr. Nun S. Amen Ra. He has a whole philosophy on anti-aging, wellness, and fitness based on his principles. One of them being intermittent fasting where he fasts for 23 hours a day and has a feeding…

Nutribullet is nice. Easy to hand wash because the containers are the size of a 24 oz cup instead of a big glass jar.

First thing I see is the protein goal is set too high. Even for highly trained athletes, 0.82 g per lb of body weight is the maximal benefit. It is likely that people need a lot less to preserve muscle/gain muscle. The 1 g protein per lb of body weight is a myth. Are you cutting or bulking? If cutting, here is a…

Protein goal might be a little high, highly trained athletes only need 0.82 g protein / lb of body weight. Going above that gives them no benefit. 1 g protein/ lb of body weight is a myth. I wrote more and cited some sources earlier, but that post is under moderation so I've kept it short this time. If you're fairly new at…

Not sure. Took a while to tell. But if you take pictures of yourself, before and after, then you can tell pretty easily after a month. Just flip between the two photos.
