  • I lost one whole pound in March! But I think I've finally got a better handle on the "stop snacking" thing! I bought a Country Zumba DVD to try something new...
  • Our late Houdini used to walk with us when we walked the dogs. Kids would always ask us if we knew there was a cat following us!
  • I've not been meeting my measly 4000 steps per day goal, but at least for February, I'm solidly into the 3s! I'm changing my goal for March, to average 500 steps a day with the little dog. When he had surgery earlier this year, he weighed 1.5# more than he did 9 months previous, and he was a little chunky then! We've made…
  • I just realized how long it's been since I've posted in our group. :-( I haven't been on FaceBook much either, but I count that a win! Your favorite run location is very pretty. Is it very buggy that close to inland water?
  • I got three emails today, all for free early registration for a 5K. I've never even run ONE 5K, let alone 3! Is the universe trying to tell me something?!
  • My biggest problem is that once I'm home, and eat dinner, I can't shut it off! I've been grazing through whatever holiday treats my son has brought home. Ugh! I've been at least 600 calories over every day, on days with family, more like 1000 over. Is it bad that I can't wait until the kid goes back to school? I can't eat…
  • November Goals: 1. 4000 steps per day. Bought the little dog a cute new harness, so we'll have to use it together. 2. 6 glasses of water every day. Only drink diet soda when out, don't buy it for at home. 3. Stop eating out so much! I'm going to limit myself to twice a week. 4. Still trying to move the scale, so a 2#…
  • I'm doing well with my step goal, but Diet Coke beats out water most days! I have NOT eaten any Halloween Candy or anything Pumpkin Spice! (Although my son gave me a pumpkin spice chai tea to try.)
  • I think I had 8 kids last year. I had bought full size candy bars and divided them up between my teenagers. This year, there are no teens in residence. Not sure whether to be sad about that or relieved! Not up to 6 glasses of water everyday, but my step average is 4300. Low was 1375, high was 9349, when I was on vacation…
  • I'll set some goals for October too! Drink at least 6 glasses of water every day. Unsweetened tea doesn't count. Get at least 4000 steps every day. (Average about 2900 steps in Sept.) Finish decluttering my living room. (Contributes to less stress!) No Halloween candy. Lose 2# by November.
  • Long term though, still a win!
  • I've gone over calories a few times this last week, but eating at home seems to be working. My weight is down for the first time in several months! I need to work on not sabotaging myself on the weekends though! Hope everyone has been having a good week. If not, we're here to offer moral support!
  • Out of financial desperation (upcoming trip with two teenagers) I've been forcing myself to eat at home, and carry my soup and yogurt for lunch at work. I've been cooking enough for 3 meals and boxing up leftovers for two nights. Then I use my usual mantra "Eat the food that's already paid for" or in this case, the food…
  • Yesterday was the first time since Sept 1st that I didn't go over calories! Only 364 more days like that, and I'll reach my weight goal!
  • Not only did I not lose weight last week, I gained! No huge surprise as I was 1000 calories over 3 times. I'm praying that now everyone has gone home/back to school, I can get back on track. All the ice cream is gone from my fridge. Almost all of the Fanny May Trinidads are gone. There are, sadly, no potato chips left.…
  • Gideon has his morning demands as well, playing fetch with a knotted up grocery bag!
  • I told my son we were gonna weigh ourselves and measure our waists before he leaves for school. Whoever has better progress when he comes home at Christmas will have to buy the other dinner at our favorite Greek place. If it's a tie, I'll buy! So this is our last week of goofing off, next week some hard choices will have…
  • I'm drinking way less Diet Coke, not even buying it for at home. I've turned to unsweetened iced tea but need to just drink more water. I don't know if I'll ever get rid of fast food entirely, but I can work that into my calorie budget. My problem has been the mindless snacking. I just switch from one food to another,…
  • I only gained one pound over my long weekend! And WOW Barb! Look at the surf! Is it like 4 times as hard to swim in that?
  • I'm headed to the Upper Peninsula tomorrow. It's my siblings' annual camping/get together. I'm hoping there's lots of hiking and other excursions to offset the taco party and big spaghetti dinner they are planning! We're headed to Mackinaw Island on Friday, so that's a good walking day...
  • I'm down two pounds from my "reset" but I'm not eager to change my profile. I feel like I should wait another week to make sure it sticks!
  • I've gained 6 pounds since March, so I finally gave in and updated my fitness profile! To lose a pound a week, it sets my calorie goal to 1270. Not sure how feasible that is! May have to use the half pound a week and set myself extra exercise/walking goals instead.
  • Vacation with Twin 1 to see his grandmother in Virginia: Done, averaged 3500 steps/day. Graduation from Navy boot camp in IL for Twin 2: Done, averaged 5000 steps per day, that included mowing the lawn right before we left, and immediately upon our return! Lots on Sat when we were hanging out with him at the airport for 12…
  • My weight has been up the past few months, and I just really didn't care because my son was leaving for bootcamp, and we were spending time together. Now that my jeans are getting snug, I made myself admit it's NOT OK to go over on my calories everyday! I cut the grass on Thursday, did some other lawn care on Saturday and…
  • My son is in boot camp! He's at Great Lakes until mid-May, then off to Pensacola, FL. At the least the other one will be home from college for the summer. All the BSU students have to take a fitness class, and he chose aerobics! The lecture portions are all about health, fitness and nutrition. He's been back on MFP,…
  • I didn't make any progress in March, but I didn't backslide either! Holding steady can be considered a win, right! We had a lot of dinners out, spending time with my son before he left for boot camp. So yummy!
  • That's awesome! But moving forward, nonetheless!
  • Normal Friday weigh in. Only one pound over my last reported weight! It was more than that last week, so I'll take it! I'm considering a high priced piece of travel gear and think that maybe I should only buy it when I reach my goal weight! I have plenty of time before I visit my son during his travel abroad year (Dec2019!)
  • Not really! I've been trying to get the overeating back on track, but what's killing me the most is inactivity. Sitting around in my pajamas on a Saturday is lovely once in a while, I just can't make a habit of it!
