  • Wow! What an inspiration!!!! Thank you so much for sharing. And congratulations! There's only one thing I have to disagree with: that you "have a long way to go." You are amazing right now. Maybe you want a little more, but I can't see what the "long way" could possibly be. Good for you!
  • I've been doing the 30-Day Shred since April. I am now at level 3, but I go back and forth between the levels. Stick with it!!! I am 50 years old, have never been very athletically inclinced, but I feel strong! I have muscles now and my endurance is so much better. I also bought another Jillian Michaels DVD for abs and I…
  • My advice is to take a guess this time. If it's something as low fat as greens with a few veggies, it's not that big of a deal. If it contained meat, cheese, nuts, etc., it is a bigger deal! As for the shrimp, eggs, bread crumbs, estimate those too, and count them separately. But I'd eyeball it and move on with my day.…
  • ISN'T THAT THE BEST FEELING? Jeans that were once too tight, now needing a belt. Nothing--absolutely nothing--tastes that good! Good for you--keep up the great work. Buy smaller jeans and pretty soon they will be too loose, too.
  • We eat this same type thing about once a week at our house. Oftentimes I mix a bag of veggie crumbles in and my kids think it's ground beef!
  • My favorite term for diet soda comes from the book "Skinny *****" in which they call it Liquid Satan. I quit drinking all soda last January (and I changed up the rest of my diet pretty radically, too) and I've never felt better. I was never a heavy duty diet Coke drinker, but probably downed 6 cans a week on average. Funny…
  • Good for you! I belonged to Weight Watchers for awhile and lost a bunch of weight, but found the maintainance "program" was lame, so I gained back a lot of the weight. I suppose they can't make any money off you after that, so they aren't terribly motivated. Or maybe it was my leader. Anyway, I like this better than WW in…
  • Congrats on your great success already! Sometimes when I am in a rut or a plateau, I change things up a little--find something different to eat (but still healthy and low cal) or try a new exercise. Maybe our bodies get in a rut and need a change. Good luck!:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
  • Good advice about the small meals and snacks! Eating small healthy foods regulates your insulin levels, which keeps you from packing on the pounds.
  • Good for you for making the effort to get started! Every path starts with the first step, and here you are! I have recently changed (drastically) the way I have eaten all my life, and I, like you have 3 children and a husband to consider also. (I'm 50 years old and am about 30 lbs. overweight.) I decided that since I am in…
  • How long have you been dieting? Because I've been with MFP for a month now and have lost 10 lbs. But the first two weeks, I was much hungrier than I am now. I think my stomach has shrunk. I eat smaller regular meals with a lot of healthy snacks in between. Fruit, veggies, roast soy nuts without salt. And occasionally I…
  • I feel that if I am hungry and I have the extra calories available, I will eat them. I also exercise some days just so I can eat more--especially if I am going out to a restaurant or to a house party or something. If I don't eat enough and I exercise, I can't sleep at night. Then I feel lousy the next day and end up eating…
  • I'm 5'5.5" and my goal weight is 150. I've been down that far before and with my body type, that's downright thin for me. At 150, I'm a size 8 to 10 and that's where I'd like to be.
