If it is mostly fat, you just have to wait it out unfortunately since you can't spot reduce. If you walk a lot, especially hills or stairs, it is possible that you have quite large calf muscles. Also a bit of genetics, my parents both have quite pronounced calves and I have the same. Besides that, I walk a lot for work and…

I should do it way more! When i prelog, I am much more likely to stay within my calorie limit than on days that I don't. It also reduces stress, because when I get hungry in the afternoon I just know how much leverage I have for snacks when my dinner is already prelogged. Problem is that most days I don't know what I'll…

Can you explain what you mean with 3:1 @nadler64 ? And what kind of interval do you do?
-
Thanks for the suggestion! I will take a look at the app. Based on my internet research I already thought Interval would come up :) But I see all kinds from sprint intervals to 2-5 min intervals, why did you choose sprints? And should I substitute all my runs with intervals, only the 5k, or only the 10?

Runner! 2-3 times a week. After a few years of running on and off I started 'seriously' in january. Seriously as in wanting it to be a long-term commitment, making it a priority in my schedule. I even like it sometimes now ;) Add me!

Thank you all for your responses! A lot of helpfull suggestions :) The p28-company doesn't deliver in the Netherlands, but I found a Dutch company that sells similar products. As a start, we ordered a kitchenaid and yesterday I made chocolate-peanutbuttermuffins stuffed with whey proteinpowder. That worked really well!

Thanks for your replies! It is a 6k (weird distance, I know) so I hope the adrenaline pump will be enough, and I will definitely take care of my diet and nutrition beforehand :) And then, just hope for the best. I'll let you know if I made it!

Great topic! I've been an on-and-off runner for a couple of years. The 27th of april (little over a week) I have a race coming up that I trained for since january. My goal is to run it under 4:45min/km, but my personal best so far is 4:50 and it seems I hit some kind of plateau the last few weeks. I feel like I am sooooooo…
