  • I really do agree. I found out my BMR is 1600+. Just knowing that ended my forever spiraling off of diets. I then chose to have lifestyle change instead of a diet. it's an awful lot slower but the weight is staying off and I'm making changes for the rest of my life. Interestingly enough...I have a friend who started this…
  • we all have these days...hugs hugs hugs hugs hugs. You can do it! you only have 13 lbs to go so don't let it get you down. remember-you probably feel big because you have loose skin. you just need some time for that to go. It's like that with me. I had 3 kids in 2 and a 1/2 years. I'm so glad you posted your feelings so…
  • i understand the frustration with the scale. but those inches are really showing. keep it up. you are inspiring me to not worry about my weight gain and instead keep tracking my cal intake and listen to my friends who are telling me they notice i'm looking smaller and the fact that i dropped a pant size as well. Thanks for…

  • you are two inches shorter than me and weigh 3lbs less than my ideal weight. hmmmmm FLAWED! the only way to actually check your BMI accurately is to dunk yourself in a tank of water and measure the water displacement. The computer tells me my ideal weight is somewhere around 140 but my dr tells me NEVER to drop under 145.…
  • partially. I definitely had a problem of eating too much and cutting the portions has done the trick. the problem is that, if you are eating horrible food, your body is going to be screaming for nuitrient and nuitrients come with calories. if you aren't eating healthy enough you are going to have a hard time keeping down…
  • indulge once in a while but just count it!
  • Great! I had never thought of keeping an old pair for reminder. Good idea! great for those days where you think you aren't making progress.

  • add me on! I need some extra help!
  • Saturated fat can be good for you! A rule of thumb is that if it is natural (non-hydrodgenated for instance) it is healthy. Expeller pressed coconut oil (previously thought to be a super NONO) is linked to weight loss. Remember moderation in all things. don't start scooping bacon grease into your mouth, but don't avoid…
  • hmmm. Of everything i've ever heard, moderate diet and excercise have always been the winners!
  • I think it's interesting that 1200 is for everyone. I definately believe i need at least 1200 because I have seen my body go into a starvation mode before. I lost weight at first but then gained a bunch. I also had NO ENERGY. I however don't believe all people need at least 1200 cals. some may need at least 1000. others…
  • i sure wish I had your problem! lol. But it is tough to gain weight in a healthy way. Good luck!
  • feel free to add me!
  • try aquasize! It is really fun and easy on knees and ankles! I got down to my proper weight after child #2 by doing aquasize 2 times a week. It is also nice because you don't feel sweaty and rarely feel sore the next day because the water massages your achey muscles while you work out.
  • Just remember to love your shape! My cousin is drop dead gorgeous and slim and her waist is the biggest part of her! keep up on the weight loss but remember to embrace your shape!
  • i agree! I'd like to know what I'm eating. It surprises me how many calories are in some fast food. "Just a few" chicken nuggets or fries or even a small burger have a surprising amount of calories! The leading cause of obesity is over eating, not bad food choices...even if something has pretty good ingredients doesn't…
  • If you like dressing up-treat yourself to a new dress and feel great about your new body! Way to go-you are getting there! I haven't treated myself either and I definitely think I should for every 10 lbs I loose. Thanks for the motivating idea!
  • my problem is that i do that way too much. But now I know that if I do seldom it's ok. like christmas day!
  • this is REALLY very helpful! Keep it coming!!!
  • in the oven or in the skillet your chicken is going to cook in its own fat (which, btw, is good for you in moderation). if you want to reduce the fat because you want to eat something else fatty (say a dressing or gravy) you could cook in the oven on a little rack to let the grease drip off.
  • Feel free to add me as a friend. I also love food and use it to comfort myself. I've never been so active in my life since I learned I can have more calories if I work out! I usually burn about 2000 a week because I love to eat. You can do it.
  • you need protein and fat to keep you full so don't skip too much on those during the day. Avoid bread, rice and pasta and instead eat salad and munch on things like celery during the day to keep you full. then ENJOY! Also, do a killer workout to add some calories to your diet.
  • that's interesting. I could NEVER loose weight while breastfeeding. It was like my body was storing. I wonder if I wasn't eating enough and by body was storing fat to make up for the difference.
  • lotion and walking is what I've found! Way to go on the weight loss!
  • maybe it was too much of a shock to your body. baby try adding 50-100 calories a week to your diet and see what happens. if weight gain starts happening, cut back and try again later.
  • you and me both!
  • Thank you for posting that! I'm very inspired! I can do it!

  • I did Atkins and it worked great and I felt great! just one problem-I couldn't keep to it! I love my carbs. So give it a try and if you love it-do it.
