  • Was trying to reply to Nicole above in the thread. Clearly I need a lesson on board usage :).
  • I'm starting over, too! Here's to new beginnings!
  • Well, I've tried everything else so giving this a go! I weigh 160. I'm 45 and having some health issues (tremendous work stress) and went off the pill about three months ago and have been in weight gain and PMS-symptom hell ever since. ;). I gained eight pounds in three weeks (and no, I wasn't on a binge) and they are just…
  • Congratulations!!!! No improvement needed from where I sit, but I understand what you mean :).
  • You are beatiful and fabulous!! Way to go!!
  • I eat lovely thick, sliced bacon frequently and log them in my journal. :) Life is good with a bit of bacon in it! And a brownie now and then, too! Love this post, btw!
  • Painfully easy, isn't it? :)
  • Well said, Qarol.
  • I agree with the folks who say to make sure you are eating enough, too. I eat most of my workout calories, too. For me, it all comes down to the journal and keeping track of exactly what goes into my mouth.
  • Make sure you are really recording *every bite* of food. I gained most of my weight through BTLs -- bites, tastes and licks. When I started recording the BTLs I was taking, I was stunned to discover that often just a bite of food was 50+ calories (just a "bite" of steak, peanut butter, a handful of almonds...). It doesn't…
  • Walking is the easiest and the most flexible (just you and where you are!) and I agree with start small. The days I really don't want to I tell myself, "Ok, you only have to 10 minutes then you can stop." I never stop. By the time I'm doing it...I'm over the hurdle. :)
  • I do this too and it's a habit (need?) I find very hard to break. So, I stopped trying and just accept it as part of who I am. Before I had kids and a weight problem, this is pretty much how I managed my weight, so it works for me.I'm sure there will a few people who will chastise me for this, but, I've lost 24 pounds with…
  • Trader Joe's has a great variety of low-cal (example, 45 calories for 2T) that don't have that low-cal after taste :)
  • I've heard of top athletes (e.g. football players) working to the point of throwing up, but the average joes & jills? No reason for that. See your doctor and take it down a notch. I work myself pretty hard and I have never puked. Drink water but don't chug. Don't work out on a full stomach.
  • I should add that I've lost 18 pounds using MFP and taking the advice I just gave you :). I actually lost 1.5 pounds the week I weighed in after a "binge meal" not unlike yours and I did nothing drastic. I just scaled back here and there for the rest of the week. Not every week is that good, I'm on a litttle plateau right…
  • No way to recover from this? You already have!! It's over, it's done. This is a new moment. Eat supper, eat sensibly and keep moving forward. One day does not undo a diet. One meal does not undo a diet. I didn't realize how much "accouting" I did when I was thin. I ate Micky D's (Big Macs, no less!), I ate pizza, I had…
  • I love, love, love your post!! Wow! You have done an amazing job. Your pictures speak volumes! Good for you!!!!!
  • I agree with Cassie. I've lost 17 pounds eating what I want and recording it in the myfitnesspal food journal. I get to my calorie limit and stop eating. That's my only rule. Some days it's a lot of salad, lean meat, whole grains. Other days it's pizza and beer, potato and pasta. O'well. Everyone has an opinion of what's…
  • Exactly!
  • Sorry for the duplicate post. No idea how *that* happened.
  • Move on sweetie. The world is big. Plenty of guys like doing what you like. Plenty of girls like what he likes. He can still be a great guy and not want the things in life you do and you can certainly love someone like this. But it is not a recipe for happiness. Walk away, cry a bit, then dry your tears and don't settle…
