Not only no. Heck no. Huh. That was supposed to be a reply to someone who asked if they were the oldest at 55. My 40 will become an adult in April.

Don't worry, not even a little bit, about body fat via the scale. There really is only one accurate way to measure body fat, and it's really a nuisance. The scale based BF is affected by the dampness of your feet, and even the humidity in the air. Ignore it. The weight is important. Use the scale, and signup & link…

So, how are you liking Trendweight? The developer is very responsive; I noticed that the FitBit site showed a different weight (by 0.1 lbs) than trendweight. FitBit doesn't round properly. Trendweight showed me my page (https://trendweight.com/scalereadings/) that had the actual reported values sent by the Aria (it reports…

I'll concur with the unofficial/official weigh in idea. Somedays, I just want to see what's happened during the day, such as yesterday. I played a round of golf, walking & carrying my bag, on a warm & humid afternoon. I wanted to see how much I'd dropped over the afternoon (yes, I know it's all water, and I'd replenished…

If two folks are close in weight, it will display the initials, and prompt you to tap the scale if it isn't you. Go signup at trendweight.com, and show it to your wife :-)

You have to weigh yourself the same time, the same way. For me, that's in the morning just before hitting the shower. When you consider the mass of everything that goes through your body every day (7-10 lbs of solids & liquids), there would be too much noise in the measurement if you do it any other way. Signup for…

Fitbit says that you need to keep it flat; that putting the Aria on its side will result in less precise readings.

Yes, it makes a difference, but no, you can lose plenty of weight without it. What the exercise will do is make you feel better, increase lean muscle mass, which boosts your metabolism, which makes you burn more calories.

We just decided to order an Aria today. I've signed us up with trendweight.com. That developer uses the same calculations as The Hacker's Diet, and shows on your dashboard your actual weigh in weight, and your trend weight. If you're using the Aria, I think it is very important to use something like TrendWeight or THD,…

Easy peasy! Salt, pepper, lemon dill. Spray some non-stick cooking spray in a baking dish, cook at 350F for 15 minutes, check for doneness (will it flake with a fork), cook more if necessary.

Don't worry about others your height having different goal weights. For example, look at two Navy divers back in their prime. One was a skinny runner, ectomorph body type. The other was a weight lifter/body builder, endomorph body type. I was comfortable at 165, he was comfortable at 220. We were both about the same height.

I'm hoping to reach my target weight in 2-3 weeks, and intend to continue weighing myself every day. I log that value in The Hacker's Diet (https://www.fourmilab.ch/cgi-bin/HackDiet) I don't pay much attention, even now, to my scale weight (other than to log it). What I pay attention to is the trend weight. NASA has…

This thread is funny. I love all the early 40s that think they're old My 40th will be an adult on my next birthday.:drinker:

Another bump ... I've used the weight tracking for years, even when I was overeating & watching my weight go up. In my opinion, using MFP for your food tracking (it's WAY easier to do that in MFP) and Hacker's Diet for weight tracking gives you total feedback. MFP shows you your estimated input, HD shows you your outcome…

I'm going to try again to post a chart of my progress since late March, when I started. I'm using The Hacker's Diet webpage to do this tracking. The main page for data entry shows you your weight points & daily average for the current month.

I'm a daily weigh in & log person. There are lots of ways to record it; I use The Hacker's Diet. That program plots your weigh in values, and your average (a 10 day weighted moving average) I'll post my chart since March (when I started, but just before I started MFP) as soon as I figure out how to post pictures. Let's see…

There is a lot of evidence pointing to the barefoot running concept; look up barefoot running, check out Mark's Daily Apple, and read these for some info: http://www.merrell.com/US/en/MConnect_Learn http://lifehacker.com/5856117/barefoot-form-is-all-you-need-to-avoid-running-injuries Also, google '100-up' YMMV, of course,

Another Hacker's Diet fan!

I use The Hacker's Diet tracking for this. I can't tell you the formula off the top of my head, but it is a weighted moving average. Considering that your daily intake (food, water and even air) and output totals 13.5 lbs/day (that's data from NASA, from a 1988 conference on life support for a mission to Mars), it is VERY…

Oh, well. I had been wondering about this for a while. It's no big deal to go in and change to 0/week, but it also shouldn't have been a difficult programming check to look at the last weigh in value before looking at the desired loss/week value. Looking forward to getting my 500 calories back :-)

I plan on weighing in every day, just as I do know. I also use another tool, The Hacker's Diet, http://www.fourmilab.ch/hackdiet/online/hdo.html to track my weight. What I like most about his tracking tool is his concept of weighted moving average. In my paraphrase of what he says, we consume and eliminate several pounds…
