  • Just now trying to get serious again and could also use some inspiring and encouraging friends. Weight keeps creeping up and life is so so so ridiculously busy that I have been unable to stay focused. jennasullivan222, my weight and goal is about the same as yours. This is the heaviest I've been, and I think I'm sometimes…
  • Hi! This looks like a great group. I'm an over-40 mom, with three YOUNG kids. I've recently started to get back into MFP, because the weight is just not going away on it's own! I could use some motivation and support. I stay ridiculously busy. Last week I started sort of my own personal challenge - 100 days to 2016, where…
  • I can relate. I've been in the same boat. And many have. I think it's human nature. We tend back toward our old habits if we don't consciously, deliberately, try to change the habits. (Especially when we get tired, or otherwise discouraged.) I've heard it said that it takes 30 days (some say more) to change a habit. Last…
  • I'm not one to pre-log anything, but glad it works for others. I'm usually flying by the seat of my pants (whatever that means ;-) ) and the day sucks me up before I can give thought to food! I try to add fruits and veggies whenever possible - to meals, snacks, etc. Not only does this help fill you up, but it is healthy…
  • Off track for about a week...feel myself slipping. Really don't want to be careless over the holidays. So.... Just for today - 1. Log all my calories 2. Exercise at least 30 minutes May you all have a successful and blessed day!!
  • Glad I found this thread. It's inspired me! I've decided to do two JFTs each day....one related to weight loss, and the other a personal goal. Extra long to-do lists stress me out, but I think this is do-able! 1. Just for today, I will log all my foods. 2. Just for today, I will be more patient with the kids! (Twin 4 y.o.s…
  • Thanks for this inspirational post. I need something to get me back on track. Consistency, momentum,...it all happens one day, one step at a time. Just for today, I: 1. Will log everything I eat. 2. Will eat at least one fruit or veggie with every meal. 3. Will drink 4 glasses of water. (I never reach 8....I need a smaller…
  • I have no intention of tracking calories after I reach my goal. (Though I think it will be important to monitor my weight and the way my clothes fit.) I strongly believe that we have a natural ability to maintain a healthy weight by trusting our hunger and fullness cues. Eat when you are hungry, stop when you are full.…
  • 1. Eat when you're hungry. Stop when you are full. 2. Veggies and fruits! They have fewer calories, are healthy, fight disease, and help fill you up so you'll eat less of the heavy stuff! 3. Food is meant to be enjoyed. Don't waste your calories on things you don't like. Find healthy foods you love, and treat yourself to…
  • Hi! I'm a mom of twin 3 y.o. and a 9 month old. It has been very hard to find time to exercise (also no time, $ or babysitter for gym), BUT it has forced me to be creative with workouts. I just do what I can, whenever I can, and often I don't know how the workout will go, or what interruption will challenge me. Today I…
  • Me too! Would love some SAHM friends. I have 3 yo boy/girl twins and a 10 month old. Best of luck to all you wonderful mommies!
  • Lately too rushed to cook, so: granola or Oat Squares with milk, and a spoon of peanut butter (in the cereal. ... gotta have some protein, or I'll be starving in another hour!) sometimes a few prunes or half a banana with it also coffee
  • Oh my goodness! Those look awesome!!!!!!!
  • Hi! I can relate to just about everything you said! I've also been about 15-20 lbs overweight most of my life, and have had a hard time staying focused. I think I'm FINALLY getting the hang of it, and am determined and excited this time. MFP has been a great tool to keep me focused. Best of luck - you can do it!!
