People love to cut others down to try to make themselves feel better. Just remember, nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent. Recognize these folks for what they are. The only thing they're really doing is pointing out how ugly THEY are.

Mimi, the biggest thing holding us back from improving our own lives/bodies/health... can be our own minds. Be it that you think you don't have enough money to eat healthy or you think you can't run in cold weather... or you think you can't possibly accomplish <fill in blank> like so-n-so can. DON'T let it hold you back.…

GLOVES (I like the fingerless kind so I can grab food or mp3 player, etc.) and HAT that covers the ears. Hands and ears get cold quickly. I, personally, get earaches without it. Clothing that will pull sweat away from the body, not absorb it, is what I've been told by the wise . But I've gotta say... I'll wear the thick,…

I PREFER a hairy-chested man. I think it is very masculine. I don't understand when men shave their chests or feel embarrassed by their hair when they can grow it. Hairy is rugged and hot.

I agree with this... even though I am a toe runner. I also most enjoy running as fast as I can... 6-7minute/mile range. So toes touching the ground and pushing off toes makes sense to me, for me. I imagine there can be a lot of factors - weight of person, speed they are moving, bone structure, muscle, comfort. Soooo...…

Look at YOU! Your hard work is paying off. We all see it. :)

lol that is around what I see also. Sure wish I could hold that pace :)

There are plenty of jerk drivers. There are plenty of jerk cyclists. Why can't we all just get along? :)

I run 10 miles at a time and I still get nervous at a 5k. No matter where you come in place, if you give it your all, you will have something to feel really proud of... and others will be proud of you too. The running community is not one to say "oh, hah, look at that sucker coming in last"... we cheer on and are proud of…

Read your labels for sugar grams. And don't eat a large amount of fruits (high in sugar). You can eat vegetables and get many of the same nutrients, less sugars. Milk is incredibly high in sugar. Stay away from cereals and most baked goods. If you go a full 3 days with low sugar intake, that may help the cravings, as I…

hehehe... I say talk to her, but don't assume she doesn't already think they are idiots. :)

Ripped - if everything else about them was exactly comparable.

Gator and snails.

I agree. It's weird. I read all three books. I really liked one, two and most of three. Worst ending I've ever read to a series though.

What a GREAT accomplishment! You GO! :)

"I don't WANT to SURVIVE!... I wanna LIVE!" (Captain on WALL-E) :)

YES! Overweight, I couldn't stand 90+ degree weather. I thought "HOW did I survive summers in South Carolina as a kid?!" Now, I know how - I was skinny! It isn't rocket science though - fat is insulating.

I would say "flirting" is just about as interpretive as poetry or a painting. We all see it different ways. If my husband doesn't care and I don't care, I certainly don't care what anyone else's thoughts are on it.

I'm 5'7.5" I go between 140-150 lbs. Presently, at 145, I'm slim and plenty fit/strong as well.

I was thinking about this recently and came to the same conclusion as Scott. A poster from long ago said she did not want to burn off all of her muscle by running... which kinda broke my heart because I love running and I want to be strong. However, I'm finding that the more I run AND eat, the stronger I am becoming and…

I HATE shaving my legs. I will do it... to spare others my grizzly natural state and for my husband. But yes, it is a chore. As for just myself, I could care less.

So many factors, such as how hydrated you are to begin with, if you find camelbak verses belt verses holding a bottle in the hand most comfortable. Personally, I carry a sports bottle of water when I go out because it doesn't hurt me to, I usually plan on going more than 5 miles, it's cheap, fast, readily available and I…

Don't let ANYBODY (particularly the jerks) stop you. You're stronger than that. Keep fighting for what you want.

If you have already insecure family/friends, there's a decent chance they will react to your weight loss/fitness/great bod with concern... be it, how you look beside them or that you'll abandon them, etc. I dealt with some of this, initially, but I talked about it when needed, ignored it otherwise, and with time, all who…
-
I'd say it's probably just a fleeting insecurity. I wouldn't voice the concern with your friends because you seem to be saying the friends are aware of the nasty situation already. So what good would it do for you? They are choosing to hang out with her anyhow. There may be good reason... a feeling of obligation or…

Crossfitters are so bad*ss. I know, it's hard not to hate.
