  • I don't have a story but congrats to you and I hope you get off the Seroquel soon, just ask your psychiatrist what in their opinion is the best way to get off it is. :)
  • I personally think it is a bit of a mixed bag, as mentioned in an above post it depends on your protein sources. I tend to buy tinned mackerel, sardines and tuna, various beans(which are incredibly cheap) with occasional chicken for my protein sources. However if you are a person who tends to have meat every day then I…
  • I have sent you a friend request, welcome and good luck. ;]
  • Haha, me too. ;3 I had: + Spinach and cottage cheese sandwich which organic wholemeal seeded bread. + Dried mango slices & walnuts + Pomegranate, watermelon & blackberry fruit salad. + Cherry tomato & fennel with some of the leftover spinach.
  • I would say you are lightly active. My job is really active as a copper but I put mine as sedentary and take a good quality pedometer (which tracks calories burnt for your weight etc) and take it with me at work and then just add that on as exercise. :) I find it a bit easier to get the math more accurate. ;]
  • Yeap, fibre helps and so does protein, 20% of the calories from protein are also burnt off just from digesting it. And as everyone else has said, lots of fruit and vegetables. Having a cheat day works for some people as well but I (personally) wouldn't overdo it too much. Hope you find something that works for you. ;3
  • I have a protein smoothie consisting of: + 1 scoop whey protein (any flavour you wish but I find banana or strawberry the nicest tasting) + 80g blueberries + 1 banana + 1 kiwi + 2 tsp Baobab fruit powder (optional - I add it for extra nutrients) + 50g Bio live yoghurt + 1 tsp lemon zest (or however much you want) + 1 tsp…
  • If you are active and exercise regularly (not just weights, any exercise) you need roughly double the RDA. :)
  • Oxford, England ;3
  • Hi, My job is similar in activity level (I'm a Police Community Support Officer) and I found that a pedometer really worked to calculate. :) Yours would probably be roughly the same as mine which I found to be an average of 1200cals per day for my weight (55kgs). Seems a lot but I cycle and walk for most of my job when not…
  • As a Police Community Support Officer I can't really have snacks on hand as I am walking, cycling and occasionally running as 95% of my shift. :frown: But I do try to squeeze a box of raisens in a pocket on my stab-vest somewhere getting a chance to eat them though is another matter!
  • i can't think of many without using protein powder (such and smoothies with protein powder blended in). Yoghurt and granola is a good high protein one, also you could do a variation of Eton Mess using meringue, yoghurt, fresh berries and even some ice cream. :) Sorry I haven't got any more ideas.
  • Oxford - England :)
  • Like many have said ignore the negative behaviour and react to the positive. However if it does get too bad she does need professional help and you and your family may need to stage an intervention in order to get her to go. Do your family feel the same way? I'm a Police Community Support Officer and I deal with difficult…
  • I always have a protein shake after work (my job is very physical - burn 1200-1400 cals a day doing it). Other than that I always have a bowl of mixed blackberries, strawberries, blueberries and red-currants for the anti-oxidant hit. :)
  • I would do something to take your mind off it when your partner is working lates. The night gets boring so you boredom eat. Take up a hobby or class which happens on the nights when your boyfriend is working. My general advice is just try to keep busy with something you enjoy. :)
  • It is a good plan, espcially if you want to lose weight. Protein is more filling than carbs and your body burns more calories by just digesting it. Also by combining it with strength training you will build more muscle. Building more muscle helps fat loss as muscle cells burn twice as much calories than fat ergo raising…
