The last couple of nights i've been struggling with eating....I have been feelign abnormally hungry over the weekend which hasmade it hard for me to eat well and make good choice. i did pretty ok untillast night and a fewminutes ago. If it's there i can literally not stop thinking about it! I ate some leftovers and i know i am way over for today.
My boyfriend is working nights this week and it seemsto be that which has triggered it. Plus im trying to do lots of university work at the moment so im a bit stressed.
I am not massively overweight but this secret eating seemsto be my downfall and is the reason i was steadily gaining. It is also a real blow to my self esteem and i would like the cycle to stop.
How do other people deal with this?

I don't know if this works for everybody but it works for me. Plan everything you are going to eat the next day the night before. Write it all down and even the time you are going to eat it. Make sure you get enough healthy snacks in. Save calories for a night time snack. If you know exactly how much you are 'allowed" to eat you are more likely to space it out and stay on target.0

exercise - if I blow it at night, which happens once in a while (have been known to eat an entire box of cereal in one sitting) I track the calories and go on my bike trainer find a movie on netflix and burn them off either that same night or at 4:30am with a cup of coffee.
also baby carrots - 1lb bag is like 300c. I challenge you to eat half a bag and see if your still hungry. Tea helps also - if I drink 2 cups of apple cinnamon tea (0 calorie) it almost always kills my appetite...0 -

I would do something to take your mind off it when your partner is working lates. The night gets boring so you boredom eat. Take up a hobby or class which happens on the nights when your boyfriend is working. My general advice is just try to keep busy with something you enjoy.0

There's no such thing as carbicide. Google "Twinkie Diet".

If you have issues with BED (binge eating disorder) here's the MFP support thread on it
http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/186531-support-for-binge-eating-disorder
There's also Food Addicts Anonymous here at MFP

But seriously, losing weight is all about calorie counting. Exercise is just the cherry on top. Don't be too hard on yourself. If you feel you have BED/SED check out the threads linked.0 -
I am struggling with overeating right now, too. I recently miscarried my baby, and it has been tearing me up. And I eat when I am anxious. But you just have to pick yourself up by the bootstraps because you are the only person that can do this for you. It's all about what you want more. It helps to have hobbies, too. Hope you find something that works. You aren't alone!0
