  • probably pretty accurate!
  • now that is a statistic I believe....
  • well, I am surprised you put "like".... I am disagreeing with your thought process to some extent.... I think it is a bit black and white... there is plenty of gray here.... but I am happy that you are aware of the best way that you learn... we need to let others learn in their own way.. I think you were smart in putting a…
  • Yes but should broaden your thought in that people learn effectively in different ways. So when a class or a certification may help one person, experience and inquiry may be more effective for another. You cannot discount different levels of learning. I think those that "disagree" with you are just thinking in that aspect.…
  • oh and for the record... I totally agree as a whole that society is looking for easy way out or quick fixes.... it comes with the increased technological development. Sadly, I think our children are suffering the most. I am overjoyed that my kids would rather pick up a basketball then sit in front of the tv, but it isnt…
  • While there may be some good points in the post, I think everyone is different and learns different. Someone may be the smartest learner in their kinesiology class... but has no body awareness to carry it through. I think for me, while I have had training and have been a fitness and aerobics instructor, I always seek out…
  • I used to have a 10" difference between my hips and waist. I have reduced that to a 7 inch difference, which makes all the difference in the world with pants.... by rump was also a factor. I do ALOT of circuit training and include alot of leg work... lunges, abductor and adductor machines, My gym also has alot of gluteal…
  • This just went on my grocery list!
  • I think it is a psychological thing. I get like that too.... it is because I spend so much time and energy trying to figure out what to eat, sometimes it gets tedious, so I get to the point that nothing sounds good. So I make something just to make something and I end up not really wanting it. I supplement those moments…
  • sounds fantastic!
  • Just posted this one. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/358666-grilled-herb-chicken-breast
  • I just added some other hints... so please check it out... it really is an easy meal to throw together.... hope you enjoy it!
  • QUOTE: throughout life. What exactly does that mean? ANYTHING used as a dietary staple "throughout life" is probably going to lead to problems if it's not balanced out with other things. All things in moderation, including moderation. Height: 5' 8" Basically his point was the women that used it as a diet supplement on a…
  • I personally steer clear of Slim Fast, I worked with a nephrologist once that told me he had done a study and a scary portion of his women patients in kidney failure were at some point using slim fast or the like throughout life.
  • For me.... seasonal changes or weather changes do not help... go figure
  • my gym has a free pizza night and a free bagel morning... last time I checked... I saw regular cream cheese with the options.... it is a personal choice... and yes a test in willpower!
  • It probably started at the word pet peeve....weightloss is such a sensitive subject....I think there are catch words that raise peoples defenses.
  • This conversation came up before and got so nasty they closed the thread. I lost 51 pounds from February to June. I did this by healthy living... watched what I eat and exercise. My job is relatively sedentary, but since it is a large building and I work with several different teams... that is my extra. I am on maintenance…
  • Me too! Luckily my hot flashes hit in the evening and overnight... the dreaded night sweats! I exercise early morning on my way to work, usually I am at my best at that time and not often dealing with the hot flashes. I also tend to keep healthy choices for my cravings.... my latest is stouffers animal crackers. They go a…
  • between 49 - 51 pounds and have been here since mid-February. Hard work....now on maintenance which is harder than losing I think....
  • I make it my rule not to eat after 7:30 at night, unless of course we are having a late dinner. It isn't because I don't want to eat so close to bed... it is because it cuts out hours of unnecessary eating for me. Night time was a munch time for me.... So I think that those that see a difference, may be seeing it because…
  • So true! We are in control of what we do.... or don't do.
  • add weight training... low weight lots of reps for toning.... high weight less reps for bulk.

  • Just got back from vacation.... I made myself little mini goals while I was away and stuck to them pretty well... probably ate more than I should, but I kept it healthy, so that is one good thing. I am too exhausted to go back and read right now... but I hope everyone is doing well. Today: catch up sleep finish a report…
  • One last work out before I am gymless for a week. Complete all things on my to do list at work. Organize tonite and get everything together. Drink water and Eat sensibly. Hope you all have a good week, not sure how often I will be on! Think Healthy!
  • I have just made it a way of life. I let the scale and the water retention set the pace for my day. If I have a bad day, I make it up the next day. I am still losing, but it is slower now. Kind of weaning myself into real life situations.
  • WTG!!! I have done the same thing.... I am about 2 pounds from my goal weight, but actually really in maintenance mode...
  • met my goals yesterday.... today 6/6: 1. Complete 2 projects at work 2. Do 40 minutes of cardio at the gym 3. Get my things together for my trip at the end of the week. 4. Find my wedding ring. (it fell off.... the one downfall of losing weight!) :(
