Gynecomastia is actual breast tissue, and needs to be distinguished from fat. Eat less and exercise. if you think you have true gynecomastia, make sure you do breast exams, and the tissue can be surgically removed if you are at high risk or you just want it gone. Men do get breast cancer.

Try circuit training/cardiosculpting with low weights. You can get your pulse going nicely, but you are still doing endurance strength training.

8-12, at maximum weight I can handle for each exercise to failure, with lovely muscle soreness the next day.

I think many of you are confused. This is a program that has 3 heavy weight workouts, one bodyweight bootcamp workout and one cardiosculpt, plus abs and a stretch per week. This is a solid bodybuilding program appropriate for my current goals. This is NOT a cardio program, which is partly why I want to include some of my…

Last time I did this program I built a nice muscle base but that was six years ago. I'm a 58 year old woman. Main girl al is fitness, with the hardbody that goes with it. I've been mostly doing cardio lately but body beast is beyond me, can't even do a proper push-up anymore. Will do the beast again but it's too much at…

Beans, any whole grain, salsa and guacamole mix. Yum! Balance of slow carbs, protein and healthy fats satisfies hunger to tide you over until next meal.

Have the polar 7 which I love but just got a fitbit charge. Calorie counts for workouts are virtually identical. Fitbit also lets me know by daily burn so I can adjust calorie intake, plus it monitors sleep very closely. Since I did the comparison test, I haven't gone back to the Polar.

I do cardio when the rest of my body doesn't work. It increases blood flow through the whole body and I can do upper body stretch when I am fast walking, using 1 lb dumbbells to stretch and work the affected areas. I can have incredibly sore hamstrings or calves, and still be able to at least walk quickly, even when I'm…

Kickboxing/mixed martial arts is loads of fun for me, and useful too. Check YouTube for some sample workouts.

Cola has phosphoric acid, and it will leach the calcium from your bones. If you must drink diet soda instead of the best hydration drink there is, water, at least switch to different soda types. Ginger ale is even medicinal.

I'm tired of putting trying to put Humpty Dumpty together again, because he shouldn't have been sitting on the wall in the first place. But suit yourself. i don't think I'm out of line...I just care passionately about this. Please eat all the twinkles and fried koolaid that you want...as you say, it's none of my business…

I never said anyone was a glutton. It's the cheerful self sabotaging aspect that bothers me. I'm mostly hanging around this thread hoping to educate and not lecture folks as to just why this kind of stuff is so dangerous. I ate way too much junk when I was a kid, and suffered for it. I don't think I suggested any heathy…

The biochemistry of inflammation is complex, but when you consume this stuff, it sets off a cascade of chemical signals that affect gene expression and changes the immune responses. These effects include increased risk of cancer and heart disease. Yes, I am returning to this thread, much in the way a person is fascinated…

If the HR is slower because of training and adaptation, you need more intensity to burn the same number of calories regardless of weight. Of course you burn less if you weigh less, but it's more complex than that.

Go to the beachbody site and click on get fit, and then on tools. That will take you to their caloric needs calculator. I have found it to be a decent starting point, and you can fine tune as needed based upon energy, weight, measurements, goals.

Nope. I already was treated for cancer, not actively trying for a recurrence if I can help it. I can't control my genetics but I can at least say no to chemical stews masquerading as edibles.

Gluten free is easy and cheap. Do modified paleo, eliminating wheat, barley and oats. Eating whole foods is so much better than the processed nutrition-free garbage marketed for gluten free.

I like a huge salad with mesclun, shredded carrots, sun dried or fresh tomatoes, onion, feta, and whatever other fresh ingredients I have, like zucchini, cukes, avocado. Dressing is extra virgin olive oil and balsamic, with oregano. Mix with 1/2 cup legume and or corn, and add protein like chicken, salmon or tuna, egg,…

I try not to eat fluorescent carcinogens (shudder).

You might want to try zigzag dieting, where you switch up number of daily calories. I think you are way too low; at 6'2" your dry weight should be more or less 180 depending upon your frame so you should be at least at 1800 without exercise, just to maintain. I don't know how to attach articles, but look it up, because it…

I only lost 4 lbs overall to reach a 20% reduction in calorie burn, and I was really nailing those workouts toward the end. But my resting HR decreased, and it was less effort to perform the same or better as fitness improved. My HR didn't go up as high toward the end of the program, and therefore the calorie burn was…

Look to your nutrition. If you aren't eating enough, you won't have energy to make it through the day. Also, make sure you have eaten something an hour or two before, so the carbs are in place to fuel your muscles. If this isn't possible, at least have a small piece of fruit, about 50 cal worth, shortly before the workout,…

I finished and loved Les Mills Combat. By the end, I was burning approx 20% fewer calories for the same workout, using the same polar F7 to compare. Your body gets fit, so doesn't need to work as hard to do the same work. By the end of Combat, you might be ready for Insanity!

Also, seven lbs in two weeks is dangerous. Most of it will be water weight anyway. Aim for 1-2 lbs/wk of true fat loss, and remember that if you work out (which you should do to avoid muscle loss on this restrictive diet), muscle weighs more than fat so the numbers might not change but body composition will.

Nutrisystem, as with any system strictly followed, will keep you at a deficit. However, the quality of the food is poor and it tastes really nasty. I did it for one month, and because the snacks were sugary, I found myself binging on them, eating five at a time. You are far better off planning your own meals, with quality…

You might actually need more calories, not fewer, based upon your exercise level. If the body is starving, metabolism gears down and holds onto fat, so you might want to bump up for a few days, not down, and see where that gets you.

This sounds like your button is being pushed which triggers a response to a more generic problem between you and fiance. Look at expectations, communication and whether you feel work is being equally shared. If you don't feel your needs are being met, then the exercise anger is likely the tip of the iceberg, and may…
