All they are saying is that foods should not be labeled as "good" or "bad" because it causes disorder thinking. And believe me, it DOES. My father went about helping me lose weight the wrong way and I have been struggling with binge eating disorder for the past 12 years.

If I can't find a version of what I am eating that has the serving weight listed I look up the serving weight and edit the listing to add the weight in parentheses. I weigh my food but I think it is good to have both the volume and weight measurements.

Butter. I do enjoy a slice of bread smothered in Country Crock when I eat soup though.

A serving is whatever the company who makes the product decides it should be. In the case of that peanut butter, one serving is always going to be 16g no matter how much you use. If you are spreading it thick on toast you would likely be eating more than one serving, and if you are spreading it thinly it would likely be…

If I am truly hungry or have a serious craving I eat and work it into my calories for the week. If I am not truly craving anything and just want to stuff my face full of food just because I am bored, sad, or anxious, I try my hardest to keep myself busy. I like to knit and spin wool into yarn, both of which leave me no…

^ That is great advice for you to follow. I have struggled with binge eating for a long time and actually put on about 50 pounds last year because it was getting very serious. It is important to not be so strict with yourself about what you eat. Save yourself some calories so you can fit a snack into your days, like a good…

MFP doesn't differentiate between fructose(from fruits) and other sugars, so if you eat any fruit at all you will always be way over their sugar level. If you feel that tracking sugar is important for you, just make sure your levels from other foods are okay and ignore the sugar content of the fruits.

I would wait about a week to let your sodium levels get back to normal and see if you drop any water weight. After that, if you are over your desired weight, take a small cut from your maintenance calories like you did when you were losing before and do some extra workouts to get back down to where you want to be.

My TDEE level is set to sedentary. I count cleaning as exercise if I am spending the entire day cleaning the house - windows, floors, walls, bathroom, oven, baseboards, etc. I don't have a HRM so I check my pulse throughout the day and average it, then log only part of the time to be safe. This happens maybe once a month.…

Female 5'6" 219 lbs I eat 1743, my TDEE at sedentary-15%, or a little less. My goal is 140 lbs, and I am losing about .5 lbs a week.

That has nothing to do with the apples themselves. Sliced and bagged apples are rinsed in calcium ascorbate to prevent browning. This is a food additive that is also used in other countries. Edit: Also, I am perfectly fine with eating genetically modified fruits and vegetables even though I choose to grow heritage/heirloom…

Don't worry about it at all. Everyone seems to drop a lot of weight when they first start working out and eating at a deficit. If I am remembering correctly, it is because the body is burning through its glycogen stores. I lost about 14 pounds my first week!

I come from a family where everything on your plate had to be finished before you could get up from the table. My younger sister and I both became overweight around the age of 8. When she went to live with my mother I stopped going outside as much and being active because I didn't really spend time with anyone but her.…
