  • My favorite thing: homemade seitan. Recipie: 2 cups vital wheat gluten (I get mine from the bulk bins of the local food coop, I know whole foods has it, as does amazon if you are totally deprived of a natural food store) 1 cup broth, your choice I like it made with mushroom broth. 1/2 cup hempseeds for a little texture.…
  • Vegan wheatball and vegetable stew. (Pumpkin, kale, beans, dragon peas, blue potatoes, turnips, onion, garlic, carrots, and leeks. The broth is water and some vegan kimchi and zucchini krauts I made a month or two ago. I also made the wheatballs from scratch too!) Happy World Vegan Day!

  • Caffeine actually dehydrates you as it is a diuretic, so you should actually be drinking another 2 cups of water for every 8oz. of black coffee you drink.

  • 9 billion animals are killed per year in factory farming, that number triples if you add in sea food. There is no comparison with accidental killing in grain harvesting. So your suspicions are wrong... and dumb. Also they are not horrifically mutilated and tortured for years and years. That is such a bull**** carnist thing…
  • Congratulations on embarking on a cruelty free, environmentally sound, and ethical journey! There is no downside of eating a well planned plant based diet. Strive for veganism. As some one who was a vegetarian for many years before going vegan, you don't get all the benefits until you go vegan. The peace of mind that you…
  • I just hit a month plateaued on the scale, but I have really noticed the changes in my body. Bigger muscles, clothes fitting looser, better endurance, more energy, ect. This is actually the first time I've tried to lose weight and felt totally cool with a plateau. I also noticed the scale inching down the last 2 days, I…

  • I like the Raw protein powders. I just started using them and I think they are great and vegan to boot. I mean its not like cruelty would improve the flavor of protein shakes... Seriously. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B007S6Y74O/ref=sr_sp-atf_title_1_2?qid=1378268324&sr=8-2
  • You need to do more research too, almost none of the soy used in tofu, tempeh, or soy milk is GMO. GMO soy is used in the highly refined junk foods like various types of cookies or in animal feed. • Just tell him that you have made a decision to be healthy and as time has gone on you are realizing that you find overweight smokers less and less attractive. That will get his attention.
  • I will often sauté veggies in fresh squeezed lime juice.
  • I recently quit smoking as well. I was having a hard time with nicotine cravings and I also wanted to drop some pounds. I devised this plan to make myself as uncomfortable as possible, but in general ways. I used the patch for a couple of weeks so I got used to not smoking. Then the day I stopped using the patch I got a…
