Fantastic post. As one of those 5'4".... Well 5'3" it is difficult to reconcile that I won't lose 2lbs per week (I have not quite 80lbs to go). Thanks for posting this.

I was able to size down at Lululemon into a sz 10 sports bra..... a far cry from not even fitting there 6 months ago.

I would again check with a doctor. I have strained my IT bands, but it was up and around my knee. Treatment was going to physio every week and working with a foam roller.

Thanks everyone! I appreciate the advice.

I love cheese... so I will add it to anything that I can think of.... I have melted down chocolate chips and dipped cubes of cheese in it. Yum.

CBC is the Canadian Broadcasting and are highly reputable.

I didn't read all the comments, so sorry if I repeat. I agree this article does not address everything involved with weight loss, and maintenance. I have spoken with a few obesity experts over the last little while, including my own doctor, and they agree that the maintenance will be much harder in the long run and to…

I can't help with the pics, but I copy and pasted the link. You look fantastic! Congrats!

Depends on my mood.... Sometimes I like to do cardio and just listen to the sounds around me without music but with music it changes. Some on my current playlist: Sail - Awolnation Short Change Hero - The Heavy Some Nights - FUN Supermassive Black Hole - Muse Thrift Shop - Macklemore And We Danced - Macklemore Home for A…

I registered for one.... but then my cousin decided that was the day he wanted to get married.... But I gave my pass to a friend's mom. They ran it and loved it, neither were runners! I would was told to wear white, and when you get home you can spray it with vinegar and have a funky tie-dyed shirt as a memento. But people…

Nachos. The local Mexican restaurant has nachos, that are layered with cheese, chicken, beef, crab, olives. And the chips! I could eat those alone. Until you realize that the portion had close to 3000 calories. I am not joking. I used to get that as a meal, never completely finish but still! Plus sour cream and salsa.....…

I am going to start full-time cycling on May 7 when my summer class at uni starts. Since I also work full-time I need to be able to travel between my home, school and office easily and parking would just cost too much. The round trip between places will be about 20 km per day.

I'm in.

You are amazing and an inspiration. Congrats on the running! I know how daunting of a sport (as simple as it is) to pick up. You also look fantastic, so much happier now. I wish you the best on your continued success!

I am not sure if it exists in the states... but there is a great swimwear store in Canada called Swimco. The website is good, but if you can find a store they will have something for you. The staff at the location I go to are super friendly and only make you feel more confident.

Hi Everyone: I have a just under 100 lbs I would like to lose. This is going to feel like a plug, but it isn't. I went to a talk to other night by Dr. Arya Sharma who is an obesity expert in Canada (if you have chance to see him go, it was fantastic) and part of what he talked about wasn't weight loss itself but why we…

I am in Central Canada (Saskatchewan -- say it three times fast) and healthy or unhealthy it is expensive. Because of how long and harsh our winters are the summer growing season is quite short. So about 90% of food is imported here both junk and non-junk. I do tend to buy product in bulk at Costco and package at home for…

I used the C25K from ClearSky Apps, but it doesn't track distance. I also have the MapMyRun which does track it and can run in the background. Both are free (lite for MapMyRun) but work well. Since I like to do interval running a lot I also have an Interval Timer app where you can set your own from Deltaworks Apps, again…

Good job!

Thanks!

Portions! I always thought I was a healthy eater..... Turns out my healthy meals were actually too small.... I gained weight during binge sessions because I was so hungry. Now I eat more and at regular intervals!

Hi: I do both WW and MFP. I like WW for the accountability since I go to meetings. I find MFP a lot better for finding support groups. Not everyone is like me, and in fact no one at my weight watchers meeting has a similar lifestyle to me. I track my food on here, but I just plug in what I eat. I don't care if I am over or…

Hi Ben: Another Canadian! I still call myself a runner, although I haven't gone out in a while. I am headed back out once the snow is gone, and perhaps when the temperatures are above -20..... I am hoping to do a 10k this May during the Sask Marathon.

It is not me who would care, but the family would. And I hate making two meals for three people.

I am in. I have 12 (gulp) to lose by May 10! But I need to lose much more and 20 for June 30th is feasible. I sent you a request!

Thai chili tuna on whole wheat bread, spinach salad with Italian dressing and an orange. Although everyone else seems to have something much more exciting. :grumble:
