We have gotten so afraid to eat sugar that we've done away with eating healthy things like fruit. Processed foods, any processed foods, are not good for us to consume. If we would go back to eating foods that naturally occur in nature we would be a heck of a lot better off. Yogurt has naturally occurring sugar so don't…

I am totally in on this one!!! I'll post my minutes this afternoon:-)

Man I am all about black socks!! I pair them with leopard print spandex shorts and zebra print spandex tops!!! Nothing better in the whole wide world than to hit that gym floor looking like I walked out of Richard Simmons closet! lol Just kidding:-)

Hey K, Awesome job on starting a new challenge. I'd join this one but you know me...I'm absolutely TERRIBLE when it comes to posting my weigh-ins:-/ So, have fun! Good luck!! Love ya bunches:-)

First, let me say that I hope you feel better soon! Second, don't let the minor setback get you down. I've been working on this program for a year now. I'm not where I would like to be but I am 40 lbs lighter than I was a year ago:-) You can definitely do this. I have found that even if I just get up and jog in place for a…

Welcome to mfp!!! I think you're going to love it! I started here a year ago and have made some very nice friends and been pretty successful at the weight loss:-) Good luck to you and HAPPY THANKSGIVING:-)

Boy, for my own sake, I wish I could tell you that you're the only one enduring this particular problem but I have lost 57 lbs and still have a large, annoying belly full of jiggle! It's the very last place to lose weight from and it can be tricky to lose but don't give up. I've been eating an avocado a day and the belly…

Alrighty, lets see if I can get back on track from here. I've already lost 57 lbs since beginning this journey back in November but I've kind of slacked off lately. My weigh in for this week is 160 lbs, which is a gain of a couple lbs. I've kept up on my calorie goals and my water intake but I slacked on my sodium levels…

Hi K! I wanted to hang my head in defeat but then I picked myself up and realized that even though I'm 10 lbs above what I thought I was, I'm still 57 lbs lighter than what I was in November:-) I would love to know what scale you use! I will make sure I have my weigh in to you by Monday morning. It's gonna show that I…

Hi, my name is Monita and I was just reminded that I haven't been on here yet:-) I am 50 years old and trying like crazy to lose weight. I made it down to 149 but wasn't quite sure my scale was right because I just didn't look the way I thought I should look for being in the 140's. So, I took my sorry butt down to my…

Yeah, 2 lbs a week is FANTASTIC weight loss!!! Pat yourself on the back, give yourself a great big hug, high five the nearest person and scream out YIPPEEE!! :-) You are doing great!
-
Ok, I'm definitely doing this one K! :-) My starting weight was 216 My CW: 150 My GW: 135

@ Kapeluza, thank you for that post!!!! I needed to read that today.

I had lost about 20 lbs when my kids started noticing and about 35 lbs when other people started noticing. I really think it depends on your body type and where you start losing it at first:-)
-
Salt definitely causes water retention and that could be the cause of your scale not moving. I really notice a difference in the way I feel and look when I let the sodium levels get out of control. MFP has my sodium set at 2500 but I feel much better if I stay below 2000 on the sodium. I also notice that the scale starts…

I have mine set to stay under 2500 but many say that you should stay under 1500. Too much sodium does cause water retention and you'll notice it in your puffy fingers, feet and face. You can offset the water retention by keeping yourself hydrated. I try to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.

Hi everyone, I'm 50 years old and have lost 54 lbs since November 2010. I would like to lose an additional 20 lbs by Christmas. Depending on which scale in the house I weigh myself on, I weigh either 151 or 161 right now. I prefer to weigh myself on the one that shows me weighing less:-) My nutritional goal for this week…

That sounds really good actually and I have a bunch of cans of black beans in my cupboard!!! Thanks for sharing that recipe!
-
I got 100% Woo Hoo!!!! :-)
-
Count me in!! I have 30 lbs left to lose!
-
I would venture to say that you are losing muscle and that's why you are starting to look flabby. If you had a lot of fat to lose and you lost it rapidly then I would say it was from the rapid fat loss and your body not having enough time to shrink back into it's skin but since you say you didn't have much weight to lose,…

Log it in as *swimming- moderate* You should be able to find it on your exercise list on mfp:-)
-
I joined one but dropped out once I saw that it was going to be run like a military boot camp. I've already done the real boot camp back in 1979 and didn't feel like doing it again:-)
-
The fb group is actually a great idea! I have a fb group that includes friends from high school and we came over to mfp as a group as well! You're going to love the way you can communicate as a group that way:-)
-
OK, my 100 jumping jacks are done and so is my day two 1 mile walk/jog:-)
-
I've never actually frozen yogurt before but I think it would make a nice substitute for ice cream! I'm going to freeze some tomorrow and see how it turns out:-)
-
My real name is Monita and my starting weight is 174:-)
-
I'm in!!! I definitely need a new challenge for August! :-)
-
You eat the additional 600 calories to get back to a net 1200 calories.

I don't let mfp recalculate. I figure if it's working, why mess with it before it's needed:-)
