I know for a fact ive lost fat and gained muscle. Ive taken progression pictures for fat loss and for muscle gain i was doing dumbell chest presses at the beginning at 14/16kg and now im doing 22kg so i must be gaining a bit of muscle
-
Yeah i am, and its been working. I know weight lifting does not burn that much fat thats why ive kept my calorie intake to about 1,500.
-
Thanks a lot mate, some really good advice
-
Thanks, from your calculations then im only 10g off per day with the amount of fat that I eat And do you think i should scrap the low carb? thats whats holding me back from eating more calories
-
Instead of telling me that im doing it wrong, could you advise me what it should be?
-
Yeah your right actually, I cook my chicken with (low saturated) oil so im probably taking in a few more calories than i think. Also i drink a bit of orange juice which must top it up a bit more
-
Thanks a lot mate, my TDEE is calculated around 2446
-
Because i'm on a low carb diet at the moment
-
I weigh 184lbs, not sure on my body fat % though, im going to order something so i can work that out
-
No I cant say that im gaining much muscle but im definitely gaining muscle
-

Yeah I eat at least 3 eggs a day and nuts as well, thats whats helping me get to my right amount of calories!
-
Well i'm not losing much weight because im gaining muscle but ive lost quite a bit of fat. Ive been lifting weights for a couple of months now but I started my low carb diet about 2 weeks ago or so. What do you mean by stats?
-
But if im just lifting do you think that 1500 calorie defict is enough? I'm struggling to get enough calories without going over my fat, protein and carb goals (not percentages but actual values) I'm also doing low carbs at the moment, eating about 50 max per day

Ive just ordered a HRM now so I can get some proper readings. Would you say that my HR should be at 90%/100% for the whole duration? At the moment im doing it on the bike, so 20 seconds as hard as i can and then 60 seconds very light peddling. I'm definitely eating enough to lose weight, my BMR is 1,930 and im eating about…

Thanks for the replys!

I had exactly the same thing recently, I increased the amount of gym sessions from 3 a week to 5/6 however I wasnt seeing much improvement, definitely not to justify doing all that extra work. However I did a lot of reading and your body is very efficient in the way that it adapts to exercising. If you havn't changed your…

no i burnt myself out! had to sit out for 10mins before i left the gym just so i could handle the bike ride home! sounds like it was enough for me then but i guess it just takes time to build up!
-
haha yeah, it destroyed me and it was probably the hardest bike ride back home of my life! thanks :)
-
Thanks for the replys! good to see what other people are doing. I definiely dont think i could keep it up for 30mins though!! But do you think what I did was enough for a HIIT session?
-
Yeah I was basing that on the 'you need to eat over 1,200 so your body doesn't go into starvation mode' I've put it up to 1,600 now and I'll slowly increase to 2,000
-
Thanks a lot, definitely going to try out everything you said :)
-
Just like to say thanks everyone for the replies
-
When I read about this before I had the impression you'd be able to tell if you we're starving you're body. I've never felt hungry and not ate purposely but I just pick low calorie choices
-
Thanks a lot for the input!
-
Very interesting read, thanks a lot
-
Wow! 2,366 is a lot! I just don't know how I can eat that much without eating too much fat and carbs?
-
I tried it before and found it didn't have much effect however I was doing it on a running machine, even though I was doing it as fast as I could handle I was told after that its not as effective on a running machine because you can't go at your maximum speed however it still put me off. Do you recommend doing cardio, HIIT…
