  • Stay accountable on here! Find friends who will check up on you if you disappear for a few days. :)
  • I weigh myself once a week, on a Wednesday morning so I don't get disheartened by any slight weekend slacking, and log my weight here every other week. I find this works for me because I am never too far away from checking on on my progress, but I have ample room to adjust to fluctuations without feeling derailed.
  • I find that I am happier when I'm paying attention to my goals because 1. I am treating my body better and 2. I am more consistently AWARE of my decision making processes throughout the day. Essentially, I pay more attention overall when I am working on my health. Since I've just started losing again after a really long…
  • Hi everybody :)
  • I turned 30 in February. Feel free to add me guys...I'd love to get to know some new folks. And if anyone is local to North Jersey, maybe we can even be workout buddies. :)
  • Five lbs. down! (a little over 6, actually.) :)
  • Waking up without heartburn!
  • I'm joining this thread late. I'm at 192, so first goal will be 187 steady for 5 days (I'm fluctuating a bit at the top so don't want to count it to early). Will weigh in and report back on Wednesday. :)
  • I sent a friend request as well. Let's do this!
  • Your guess is wrong and you have (perhaps willfully?) missed the point.
  • There's definitely a lot of garbage advice out there, much of it aimed a preying on folks looking for a quick fix or at least a holy grail to explain their lack of success up to this point. And thoroughly researching *anything* important is something that should be a bigger priority for most people, in more areas than just…
  • Good luck!
  • So very true! Don't get me wrong- I wouldn't trade my experiences or my sense of easy independence for anything, though it'd be nice to share things with a partner.
  • Hi Everyone! My name is Celia. This is my 2nd day back on MFP after a disastrous fall/winter in which I gained 20 lbs- the 12 I had lost on here last summer plus 8 more for good measure. I've never seen the 190s on the scale before and frankly it scared the crap out of me. I see my mother struggling with type II diabetes…
  • Hi Valerie! Sorry...I haven't logged on in a while and just saw your reply now. I'm finishing up a Masters in Anthropology and will be done in May. For awhile I was making it to the gym for classes, but I haven't set foot there in about two weeks...trying to do better again starting now! Anyway, thanks for replying. Hope…
  • Hi guys, I am fairly new to MPF- I started in early July of this year and had been doing fairly well. Nothing crazy but I was getting more active and has lost about 12 lbs. by the end of August. I thought that when I came back to school (I was home for the summer break) that I would do even better since I have access to an…
  • Sorry I've been MIA! Last Wed. was not a bad weigh in- 171.4, only 0.2 above my lowest so far, but I have fallen off the wagon big time over the past month. I'm recommitting today. Hope all is well with you guys.
  • Down 3.2 lbs to my lowest since joining- 171.2. However, I opted to go out for a huge dinner at Red Lobster last night and stopped at Wendy's on my way home today (three hour drive and I let myself get to hungry trying to atone for that dinner)...so I am guessing that next week will be my usual "one step forward two steps…
  • Pizza or Taco Bell
  • Up 1.4 this week but I expected it.
  • 5'1...heaviest weight ever ~186 (summer 2006 and this past spring) Lowest adult weight 141. Current weight 173.6. I am a size 14 now. My biggest issue is my belly- at my heaviest I wear a size 16 and at my "smallest" I was a 12. I am big in my whole trunk (barely fit into a 36 bra even at 140) with smaller arms and legs.…
  • Down 1.6 lbs 10 173.6...and it just goes to show you how random it can be- I didn't do so hot over the weekend either and was NOT expecting a loss. Keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't catch up with me next week.
  • Awesome everybody! Have a great week. :)
  • Down 2.4 lbs. from last week, so much of it must have been water. 175.2.
  • 1.8 lb gain. Gained back exactly everything I'd lost last week. :(
  • Any interest in doing a meetup one of these days? I am in town til the 22nd of August. Thought a group of us could meet for coffee or something.
  • Essex County born and bred...home for the summer but going back up to Binghamton NY in August for one more year to finish my masters.
  • Honestly, that was how the original post came across to me as well. I guess that's the problem with communicating on the internet- it's hard to make sure that everyone is looking at a situation the same way. I only have my own experience- that of someone who has been consistently overweight for most of her adult life- to…
  • Down 1.8 lbs from last week (which included a substantial gain from the week prior) Net loss 0.4 lbs from last lowest weight (recorded on the 10th). It's something!
