  • We got a bunch of bumgenious one size pocket diapers as well as G-diapers handed down for our first son. I had no plan to use cloth diapers, but ended up embracing it enthusiastically. We saved so much money (considering we never paid for them). The bum genious OS are brilliant, because you can use the same diaper from…
  • Thats sweet! And its right. Thank you for putting it in perspective for me Chelsea. I felt so terrible about my eating yesterday. It helped to "confess" here, even to myself. Today is a new day. Bye discounted valentines candy! (that tastes like crap anyway) hello carrots:)
  • Hi guys. Ive been so busy and absent for a while. Thank you for your replies. Reading your stories, I feel so blessed everything seems to be going forward well. Mommyis fit: my heart goes out to you and your baby!! I don't know if you are going to read this, but you two are now in my toughs and prayers. I cant imagine how…
  • Anybody have pictures to share? Here is a how to, but I cant seem to get it to work myself. Maybe because my image is on google drive : Hosting the Picture 1) Go to an image-hosting site (for example, photobucket or tinypic- photobucket requires making an account). Upload your picture. To do this, click the button that…
  • Spunkychelsea. Gender-dissapointment is very common. I think most people don't talk about it, because as you say they are afraid to be judged. First time I was pregnant and found out it was a boy I was slightly bummed out too. I had these vivid ideas of what having a baby girl was like, I was sure I was having a daughter.…
  • Ah. You surprise people. I'm so much in awe of you! I could never, never, never ever resist the temptation of knowing. anything thats out there to know.. I'm so curious (obviously:) How do you resist? What is the reason you chose not to know? I really want to know.. I think the reason I find it hard to imagine not knowing…
  • Hmm. guess I cant edit my headline typo..
  • Just please never let her or her sister know how badly you wanted her to be a boy.. That can really mess their confidence up. I'm talking from experience. Take care!
  • I'm sorry you are so upset and feel let down by your family. That must incredibly difficult. Maybe they are just trying to be supportive, knowing you really wanted a boy, but are doing so in a very clumsy way.. Congratulation on having a healthy girl. I'm sure she will be awesome!
  • We had an early ultrasound (down syndrome screening) The lady asked if we wanted to know the gender. Quite a surprise. Apparently even tough the genitalia are very similar an penis looking at what was then 13 weeks, they can tell from the angle. But its not 100% certain. Bizarre and magic to see that little person bouncing…
  • Im 15 weeks. One day last week I looked myself in the mirror and I could swear I suddenly looked like I was 6 months along. For various reasons we still have not told anybody. I feel like I'm just getting really fat again. Probably look like a real jojo diet case. Looking forward to be "legally"/ obviously pregnant. Last…
  • I had my first last week. It looks like we are having a little girl, like everyone else in our neighborhood:)
  • I'm so sorry to read this. My heart is bleeding for you. Lots and lots of prayers and love your way! xMarte
  • Yummy, milk... I'm gonna buy a cow. Thats how much I like milk lately. I also started to crave badly for all of those things ive been so good avoiding for months. The bad stuff. The yummy sweet, greasy, salty stuff. Darn! Its frustrating. Almost miss the old morning sickness.
  • I feel I never stopped wearing maternity clothes after I had my first son 2 years ago. Just before I got pregnant I lost about 20 lbs, so I'm hoping I can just use my old "fat clothes" as my belly starts growing. And then.. Once baby is out, I'm gonna get really fit and never wear maternity clothes ever again, unless I'm…
  • phui. great! thanks, ladies:)
  • Totally ad hoc. But the name Jaden, or Aden is incredibly popular lately. Does anyone know how that happened? Was it Will Smiths kid who just started it all? Feels like every other little boy we run into is named something along those lines. Looks like its on a decline however.. And then there is Mason.. Name trends are so…
  • I used to teach. Names were are tricky part of it. So many nationalities and odd names. I kept mixing them up, driving the kids insane:) Iver comes from Ivar, witch is a very common name back home, especially among the older generation. I never met any Iver, but looking at the statistics, it looks like a really hot name…
  • Baby looks so happy in there, dangling its feet and enjoying its existence.
  • I love using family names, and old names. I think its beautiful that you go totally in for it. I'm named after 2 of my ancestors, and it has always felt very important. Like i had a special bond with people in afterlife. Almost like having been given 2 guardian angels or invisible god mothers.
  • I'm torn. The romantic 5 year old inside of me really wants a little girl for all the things I loved when I was a child, the cute clothes, the imaginary games and the dolls. Plus my brother has 3 girls, and ton loads of really nice quality hand me downs. Yet, I dread all the pink princess madness.. Not to mention a teenage…
  • Aaa. Names are so tricky!! My head is constantly working around with different name combinations, female and male. It feels like, whatever you choose. people have such strong opinions about it. Especially family. We had a rough time naming our first son Ragnar. Its a classic, old Norwegian name. (I'm Norwegian, my husband…
  • Go to a specialist and have them help you find the right fit! It does miracles, and is totally worth it. I learned I was wearing the totally wrong size.
  • Target has some really cheap, alright nursing bras. If you bought one that fits now, but is too small when milk comes in, you could just toss it, or keep it as a backup. However. I learned first time around, not only does your cup size change, but also your bra preferences. I'm a kind of person who always wants underwire…
  • I'm in the same boat. First pregnancy with my son was surprisingly easy going, this time around I feel like I'm 90 and constantly on rough water. The weird thing is that all of my friends who just had or are having 2nd baby also have been really miserable. And the are all having girls. (last time around, we all had boys)…
  • It posted. Its adorable! Another of your fur babies? (or just a very unusual sonogram?:)
  • Hi fellow mommies I'm Marte, due with my 2nd mid May. I have a son who is 2. Because all of his friends are having siblings these days, he is really into babies, but we haven't told him yet:) We have decided to not tell anybody before 12th week, so having these pregnancy forums are great. Just to went all of those baby…
  • I'm so full of awe of people who get up 4am to work out.. Only a screaming baby can get me up at 4am.. I guess we need all this sleep. In 6-7 months we will dream about these wonderful lazy days:) Good to hear I'm not alone wagging along like an old lady.
  • I love ginger for nausea too. If you freeze whole ginger, it lasts forever. You can easily cut or grate it when its frozen. I also found getting outside for a short walk helps a lot when I feel sick.
  • Thanks. I think my estimated activity level was too high. Ive definitely been rather sluggish lately due to all of these hormones. . Adjusting that helped. It also seems that mfp sometimes exaggerates the calorie burn on work outs. So what are the micros and macros? vitamins?
