Congrats!!! Good job, keep up the good work!

Welcome, Jena! This site certainly has offered me lots of encouragement and advice. Even if I don't always comment, I do read what others are writing. It is very helpful.
-
Congrats! That is really an accomplishment. I'm a long way from there, but that is my goal as well.

No, I wish!!! I lost 41 since surgery. The remaining was pre-surgery loss. My loses since surgery have been steady but slow/low numbers. I'm still glad I had the surgery. Loss may be slow and I've already had some plateu's but at least it is still coming off. Slow and steady, right?

I'm from Michigan. RYN 10/21/13. Currently wintering in Florida. So glad about that with the snow & freezing temps in Michigan. Although this morning it is only 29 in FL!!

I heat frozen raspberries in microwave and then top them with a serving of fat free cottage cheese. This is so yummy!!

Glad you are doing this!! You won't be sorry. I really encourage you to keep up the work and stay connected to others who are doing the same. You will meet several that don't think its a good idea. You need to ignore them and do this for yourself. I wish I had done this when I was younger! But at least I have done it…

Laura, Were you able to have plastic surgery? If so, how far from your WLS? Did your insurance cover it?

Good idea...I need to really make sure I'm getting in the water!! I am always short on that. I used to love water, now not so much. I just need to keep it moving. I'm working on pool exercise right how. I'm hoping that will be more effective in the loses. Thanks!

My weight loss seems slow as well!! From week 7 to week 8 post op, I didn't lose anything. Today, week 9, I finally lost 4 pounds. So I have a total of 37 since pre op weight. I see others with much higher losses. It can get pretty depressing. My knees are really bad so walking is out of the question. Getting in my protein…

Yea!!! Isn't it wonderful the new feelings we get to experience? Time seems to go slowly & then we see a picture and are totally amazed at the transformation! Keep up the good work.

Just use the food tracker and watch your intake. Making sure you increase your protein intake. You should loose. I too, am unable exercise. I was able to loose prior to surgery. Tracking helped tremendously!!
-
Congratulations! You did it!!! Best wishes for a very speedy recovery! You won't be sorry.

WOW, you are good...Red wine or Protein Shake & you choose Protein Shake!!! Great Job! Wonderful job with your medication being discontinued.
-
Thanks, everyone!!! I just started Phase 5 foods this week. Then, I get to do "whatever" foods on 12/2/13. I just need to keep recording and get my water in.
-
Well, today was much better. I drank more water/crystal light and stretched out the protein evenly throughout the day. Seemed to do better! thanks for the replies! :drinker:

I've been waking about every 2 hours every night. I am 3 weeks post op...So maybe it is from surgery?? or blood sugars..haven't checked them in the middle of the night. However, my am blood sugar has been staying around 115 on average since surgery. I, too, would love to get 8 full hours of sleep!!

You probably didn't do as bad as you think. You are lucky to be able to have one meal per day. My doctor required 2 weeks of liquids prior to my surgery. It is good for you to get back on your program...After surgery, most physicians require at least a week of liquid diets to let your new pouch heal. I had gastric bypass &…

I agree with all of the above. I, too, had many tell me that horrors of having the surgery. I finally decided to put them out of my mind and keep only those who supported me in the forefront!! I am now just a bit over 2 weeks post RNY. Glad that I had it done! All the prep work to get ready for surgery did help as well as…

Keep up the shake diet....my care center said the main reason for the liquid pre-op diet was not only to continue the weight loss, but mainly to actually shrink your liver. I guess that it must be moved to the side during the surgery, and shrinking it helps. So, don't be discouraged!! Just keep with the program they gave…

Have done the same as Stroynaya...I donate & keep track on "itsdeductible." That handy tool pulls right into TurboTax at tax time. I do have a few really nice things that I may take to a consignment shop. Haven't tried ebay, but my daughter-in-law sells things on there all the time. Best thing, is get rid of what doesn't…

Try the Chicken broth Unjury protein....you just have to make sure the water is under 140 degrees. It is really good!! I don't like the sweet ones either. The warm protein chicken broth from Unjury really hits the mark. It is almost soothing to the stomach. I could have it for every meal!! I was able to purchase it at our…

Nutritionist told me it is too harsh on the pouch and that it affects your blood sugars too much.

Just had my surgery, so no personal experience. However I have spoken to someone 2 years post surgery. She said that post surgery, your body absorbs the alcohol much faster. A very quick response to alcohol. She also said that the sugar content in most alcohols create the dumping symptom. And, of course, with beer that is…

Congratulations on the 3 year anniversary!! I pray that all goes well with your surgery tomorrow. Please let us know how you do!

I have been using both the unflavored Unjury and the Unjury Chicken broth my sources of protein. I mix the unflavored with the crystal light flavors...not to bad. Best for me so far has been the lemon flavor. I agree, things seem to taste sweeter for some reason. Sorry to hear about the nausea. I was very lucky (I guess).…

I agree about the Unjury!! It is really great. I currently have both the chicken broth and the unflavored. They are both really good. I am currently on a clear liquid + protein...so I mix the unflavored with any flavor of crystal lite. Good drink! Can't wait to progress to yogurts, etc So that I can try it with them as…

One more thing....also told that headaches and leg cramps can be from dehydration...so drink more water...
-
Haven't had surgery, yet, but was told no Aleve or Motrin...they can both cause irritation to the pouch and/or bleeding. Doctor said only take prescribed pain medicine or liquid tylenol.

Thank you so much for sharing your changes... it is really encouraging to see the number changes in clothing, etc. I was a bit discouraged at my last nutrition appointment pre-surgery. They set my "goal weight" at 205. I am already down to 279 from 316 last December without surgery. I was hoping to go down much lower than…
