I am 24 and looking to lose around 30 pounds. I keep giving up but I am tired of failing.

I definitely want need to build a support system here. Add me!

Hey. I completed Couch to 5K about 3 years ago I think. I tried it for a week before I realized that running put too much stress on my knees. So I modified it to sort of make my work out interval, during the running segments I tried to move a bit faster. Even with just doing that in addition to light weights at the gym, I…

Hi. Welcome. You won't regret joining MFP. It is very motivating.

Fat thighs? I've just hat a look your photos. Where? I think you give yourself a lot less credit than you deserve. No offense but if your thighs were much slimmer it would be unattractive and unhealthy looking.

My honest opinion is that 120 is waaaay too low. I'm 5"5 and I wouldn't want to go lower than 125 and you have four inches on me. Even if 120 would be healthy for you (which I don't think it is) I believe that your body will fight you every step of the way to stay at that weight. Looking at your photo I think that you…

This is why I asked the OP to tell us if he specifically said he was doing this. There's also the chance that she is projecting.
-
Did he tell you that he was taking a photo of you so that you could see how fat you are?

My face, neck, boobs.

I've so far gained two pounds in the two weeks I've been eating healthily and exercising. I've started doing measurements though and there's been a change, also I can see that I've lost weight. So, I've decided to chuck this scale centric mentality. I will next measure myself on the 19th of August and that will also be the…

All the things you pointed out as not liking could be helped by weight lifting. You might be conscious about your body but try to ignore that feeling and head to the gym. You've come so far, you are a warrior... you are a survivor and you should be proud of yourself. If you really, really can't bring yourself to go to the…

1. Because I need to show myself that I CAN be disciplined 2. Because as much as I hate to admit it to myself when I'm eating badly and not exercising - I feel soooo much better when I'm being healthy. 3. Because I've got no acne since I've stopped drinking a litre of soda per day 4. Because I want to be able to go back to…

The thing is though. Going out and having KFC per usual, Burger King per usual, Nandos per usual... Haagen Dazs per usual once or twice per week, have extra butter on your popcorn isn't a binge. It is eating in a slightly more relaxed fashion. I sometimes try to make sure I have an uber healthy filling snack prepared for…

I have failed at dieting about six times. Seventh time the charm right? Five of those times I just fell back into bad habits because I wasn't committed or I wasn't seeing results as fast as I'd like... silly right? However, on one occasion I made a conscious decision to stop because I didn't like what it was doing mentally…

I original set my goal at 135 but then I dropped it to 130. I think I might put it back to 135 as I realize that because I lift weights, I will tend to weigh more even though I don't look it because of the muscle.

I try my best

Oh? Really... I've gone off looking for some legit nerd rage experience - I have a box of Pepperidge Farm Milanos that I'd love to become zero cals.
-
What? Can you explain this to me unless it was a type ... but if you are not bulking and you're not maintaing ...aren't you cutting?
-
Geez. Just think of all the calories people are burning from getting worked up on this thread. Might even be room for a cookie... unless we don't eat back those calories
-
I don't think it is accurate so I use the calories from whatever machine I use instead. So, my exercise add read Day 1, Day 2 etc etc. I used it once because I didn't have anything else to compare it to and ended up shaving 1/4 off my time.

So as soon as someone says something you don't agree with now a days it is bullying? Interesting. I find people throw that word around waaaay too lightly on the internet. You obviously don't know what it means to really be bullied. At any rate in relation to the OP's question which I will fully admit to being surprised to…

I absolutely love the chocolate brownies. I used it to combat cravings. It keeps me filled enough though so I guess that's good.

Also, have you considered swimming. It is very low impact on joints which may help with your hips. Stupid NHS though. I've read of them paying for people's breast implants - surely this is more important. I hope you find someway to deal with the hip because as a sufferer of Fibromyalgia I know that pain is not a walk in…

Hey there. I'm Rilzy. I'm 23 and I joined about 2 week ago. Congrats, trust me you won't regret this. Tracking your calories will make a significant difference (at least it has for me) and My Fitness Pal has made it so easy. The support is great also. I'll add you both as friends so that we can motivate each other.

Don't worry too much about it. Try to have at least one healthy meal per day. Breakfast might be easiest. With the liquor you might want to stay away from really blended, sugary mixes, so vodka with lime or so could be a good choice. Over all I would say have fun, don't stress much but know you will have to work a tad…

Huge congratulations!!!!!! That is great.
-
This!! Exactly. Congrats to the OP. This made my evening. I wish you guys a long, happy, healthy life together.
-
Yikes. I get a headache just thinking about eating only 800 cals per day - I'd work off 700 of those in one gym session. I'm really happy that the OP is working along with a doctor too. I hope that anyone considering a VLCD will do the same and rely on a doctor to ensure that everything is going the way it should go.

1. Spinach 2. Bananas 3. Avocados 4. Tomatoes 5. Eggs 6. Fish 7. Chicken 8. Soy Milk 9. Mushrooms 10. Lemons ( for my water)

Granted I eat a lot more than the OP does. For me a cup of spinach, a banana and a quarter cup of soy milk is really filling. It is just that I know I must have protein with every meal so I might have fish or chicken with it. If someone is looking only at calories and not nutrients per se, I can see how this would be a…
